Top notch sir, top notch.

After seeing several plastidip jobs up close, I have to say it looks as bad or worse that a rattle can job. Those are the ones that were done with their spray system too. **** sucks, plain and simple.

Yeah they (plastidip stuff) all look good online in pictures. I swapped trunks with a local guy who had the emblems plastidipped a few months ago and they look like *** up close and I tried removing a hidden portion to see how easy it comes off and it was basically chipping off.

I must have the best luck in the world. This has not been my experience in 2 years of working with the product. You see, if you don't clean the car before hand you will have issues like you described, that means getting in any grooves where there may still be car waxes etc as well, if not you will have problems. Prep is the most important part. What do I know tho, I have only been working with this stuff for 2 years and testing it in New England weather. It isn't the product... but the person applying it that is the problem. I have worked with the stuff for 2 years and have a good grasp on it. I have also seen professional jobs that are better than mine done with dip.

Clearly you have no idea of what you are talking about in regards to this product. So you have seen a couple of shitty applications. So what? I have seen shitty wraps too, I don't judge all wraps by it because the product is fine. Human error does not make a product ****. Spreading misinformation does you a disservice. Wait what am I trying to convince you for? You obviously know everything there is to know about everything regardless of the experience of others is, yours must be the right one.

Yeah well, I have been to plenty of shows and seen it up close in many different applications and I have yet to see anyone do it well, including you.

But if you like it, rock out man, you will never convince me plastidip is worth a **** until I seen done well in person.

I feel the same way about windshield stickers, wings that aren't OEM, kits that aren't OEM and carbon fiber hoods (they make the car look like a patched quilt). Those things look ridiculous in my opinion. To each his own, if you like it rock it. I am not trying to convince you to like what I have done. I am however aware of misinformation and that you are talking about your opinion based on an experience in which you were not even personally involved but instead acted as a bystander after the fact.

What does me being involved with the process have to do with anything? And how exactly amd I spreading misinformation? If it looks like ****, it looks like ****. I have seen many, many things Plastidipped and aside from under body stuff and off road stuff it always looks crappy and out of place. The only thing it has looked good on is exhaust shrouds but it doesn't hold up any better than anything else I have tried (paid to have it done by a pro).

I have seen it done by a professional shop where this is all they do, still looks like a cheap *** rattle can spray job. It doesn't 'lay' smooth no matter what, if you dig the orange peel look though it's spot on.

I know someone with an S5 that had it dipped by an authorized DipYourCar dipper... Looked like ***, which the owner later admitted to. He paid a decent premium over the dip kit itself to have it done "professionally". He had it on from summer '12 til March '13. It was a bitch to peal of and his door jambs were full of that ****. Can't imagine how much a detailer would charge just to make his door jambs brand new again too.

I have seen it, very disappointed. Especially the picture of it from when he spilled gas while filling it up.

have you seen his latest incarnation of gray? The pictures I saw weren't bad at all.

Yeah, I could see gas causing some issues, LOL.

Yeah it removed the plastidip from the fender. Plastidip and Vinyl always looks good in pics. Up close and in person is another story.

Back when we first got her in 2012:

MB Battles were my first set of wheels, and I eventually sold them for white Work XD9s.

Current progress in 2014 with full Shine Auto Project Type II, Work XD9s powder coated in crystal grey, and a bit of bolt-on mods for fun. I pretty much almost got the car where I want it to be; I'm going to lower the car eventually, but in a conservative manner. Most likely will do KYB Gas-a-Just and Progress Technology springs to match my sway bars. I eventually want to go turbo, but that won't happen for a while until I'm more financially stable and comfortable to take that risk.
