Is your 8.8 a solid axle or independent?

Don't...he pays more money in roasted tires and broken axles then all of the NHRA teams combined!

Angle...I have a question bro...Do you know anyone that can repair or beef up the stock tranny?? I am really getting tired of the tranny issues. I really don't want to run into any issues when I'm racing.

LMAO!!! I'll need a tranny for every month of the year so I am sure we can get a good deal.

Ever since December I've been going on a racing spree...I've already competed in 3 autocross events in 1 month...LOL! I really want to keep the pace to about 1 or 2 autocross's or track days per month as money permits.

I'm also looking into saving for the TurboBlown kit (goal is 350 wHP) but I am having serious tranny issues. Remember I posted a while back about getting my tranny replaced? Well, that bitch is having syncro issues now after only a few months. Thankfully, it has 6 months of warrantee (which is almost gone) but the next tranny I am getting has 60k miles on it and I am worried it will have the same problem after a few months of driving/racing. I need a permanent solution to this ****. My brother mentioned the syncros are made of brass and should be easy to replace with a steel alternative but my mechanic said if your going to tear that thing open you might as well replace all bearings (I think he said bearings??). I'm worried this **** will turn into a money pit. I'll be in Hollywood this Saturday at MazdaPros all day getting the tranny replaced. I hope this **** is fixed permanently this time but I don't think so.

I am going to bet that 1) alot of the guru's will disagree about the longevety in compareson to our tranny and 2) your talking about custom fitting a different tranny into a car. Chances are I will have to change the drive shaft and fab tranny mounts and whatever else necessary to make it work. This would involve a ton of money. I could easily use that money to rebuild my current tranny and make it much stronger if I had that kinda money but I don't. I need a more economical solution.

I think the Mx-5 tranny may be the same unit.

What I am trying to determine is if I upgrade the syncros will it resolve the issues permanently...I think they might and my brother could help me in replacing them. I have to ask him.

I heard the 09 tranny's are very good BUT...Drum roll...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

My best bet money wise is to get a blind fold and ear plugs and find myself some 90 year old rich lady that wants me for my body.
