Ok, Thanks for that..

I was under the impression the racing beat springs were specifically designed to work with the OEM shocks..

They will "work" but the OEM shocks tend to wear our prematurely with stiffer springs because they go through more cycles. So you really want to get the Tokico D specs or Konis at the same time as those will stand up to the abuse. My main point is the time and labor to pull everything apart to replace just the springs is the exact same time and labor to replace both springs and shocks. So I would save yourself some money and get both and install them at the same time.

Thanks again for clearing that up for me..

do the mazdaspeed shocks hold up any better than Oem ones do with lowering springs? If not no big deal the price of MS vs Tokico Dspecs is damn close imo

I'm just not into double work especially if I have to pay to get it done (I'll try a diy on this one)

Eibach on OEM shocks

These are different springs than most of the pics for the eibach, they are 1.2F and .8R instead of 1.2 all around.

^how long have you had them in? did you install them yourself? did you preload? have you let them settle? have you checked the DIY on installing springs and noticed something you may have left out? ...worse case scenario...did you install the rear springs to the rear of the car? i know it sounds dumb...but it's happened.....

I'm trying to comprehend why the RS*R website says a 1.2 and 0.8 drop, whereas they look lower or on par with Sprint springs that state 2.0 drop all around???

i just bought a 2009 r3 edition, and i want to lower it bad, but i haven't been able to find out if any of these springs will work with the new r3 edition, if its the same as previous models or not, definitely need to get rid of that space between the wheels and fender, was thinking either tein s techs or sprints they seem to have the best stance, i find with eibachs and a few others that it looks like a bigger gap in the front then the rear and gives the car a sagging look in the *** end, definitely don't want that, can any one educate me on the r3 compared to earlier years as far as customization goes?

ok this is what I started, it's very crude at the moment but it's nice to be able to see whats what without having to go through a million threads. When I say crude, I mean crude.....

There is a lot of info missing and possibly wrong. It will include sorting and filtering what I am finished. Only shows info on springs, shocks and wheel size. I am not sure if anything else is needed/worth tracking (coilovers maybe?)

http://starshipvonbraun.com/rx8/drop.aspx

let me know what you people think, I really enjoy doing these little projects.
