I like it when an article is based on random opinions of the author.

If you're into low-end torque, the Nismo is the choice, but if you're into high revs, pick the RX-8. I like torque, so the nod here goes to the Nismo.

Another nice one.

Styling

This category is purely subjective, and I feel that both cars are prime examples of how sports cars should look. Mazda designers did a superb job bringing the "4-door" sports car to life. Sure, the roofline is a bit taller than a traditional 2-door sports car's, but overall, the RX-8's looks and demeanor are that of the real thing.
RX-8 Height: 51.3 in.
350Z Height: 51.9 in.

It's referred to as a front mid-engine design. The RX-8 has something similar as well.
