oh

is it like the normal conversions that companies do for 4/6 cylinders?
i would really like to know how your rotary was converted, as petrol is £1.02 a litre for unleaded regular and £1.10 a litre or more for superunleaded in UK.

the gas is roughly 44p a litre so would be worth the costs in getting the car converted, is there the same type of fuel economy?

thanks again.

LOL, a Z troll.

Wow you guys sure love your cars.

Maybe I shouldve taped it when I pulled your G35 brother twice in a row from a 60 punch. He was nice enough to pull over and ask me what I had, (clutch and flyweel). He seemed a bit nervous or something cause he kept wiggling it in neutral.

Aside from that, the driver probably had a huge ****. I have heard that when you purchase a 350/G35/7 that you **** grows at least 6". Popular Mechanics is going to have a thesis on this in there next mag.

bit of amix up in the use of the language there bullet proof- across the pond there in ireland what we call "gas" or "gasoline" is what they call petrol. he is referring to conversion to propane or natural gas.

spoddyandthemazda- mazda is starting to offer a gas conversion for some of its vehicles ( http://news.smh.com.au/mazda-6-avail...0221-1tjo.html ) in Europe but so far the 8 is not one of them

I regret not being able to read the thread that got him banned.
Great entertainment thread, although I couldn't understand most of his blabbing.

But considering the topic of water injection...
This practice seems to be old school prior to advent of intercoolers in turbo applications. It seems to be of little value to NA engines now that we have EFI (as opposed to carburetors).

Wikipedia has an entry on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_i..._%28engines%29

I think Corky Bell in his definitive book of turbochargers recommends against them.

If anyone is truly curious, you can make one yourself for about $70. Here's the how-to: http://fueleconomytips.com/2006/08/1...por-injection/

Yeah man, didn't you know? Haven't you see all those badasses on the streets with their G35's and 350z looking all manly? The cars give them extra cockage which gives them the right to set their seats all the way back and have them drive with their left hand on 2 o'clock. Don't forget the gangsta lean just because they can do it in a 350 G35 and we can't in a rx8... And the trolling. It's a free pass to Man Town.

i just checked back on this thread, what the heck was that guy going on about???

yes zoom44 thanks i was referring to lpg gas, as its alot cheaper and i have found a thread where a rotary has been converted in a truck on here somewheres...

does anyone know how many litres of pertol 'gas' each small mark on the fuel gauge means? i know the tank is 61 litres, but i was trying to work out how many litres two small marks represent. i drive 34 miles to work and 34 miles back and that is from just under the 3/4 level to the half level on the gauge.

i thought that wasn't too bad considering the figures mazda say. you get, it is motorway driving most of it, so must be 32mpg?

it will be interesting to see how well the hydrogen engine will work when it is ready to be put in the 8. or has that already been done?

no

It' approx 15 litres between the major lines but you can't get a mpg figure like that. Fill up the tank - reset the trip meter . Then at the next fill see how much petrol you put in and read the meter .

well the figures say 32mpg extra urban, 24mpg combined, i also read an ad for an 8 on ebay that they got 32mpg and fuel consumption wasn't as bad as they say.

i just wanted to know what each major line was in litres, if you look at the gauge, from the top line to the 3/4 is smaller than from the 3/4 to the half.

mazda recommend not to drop below the 1/4 mark in petrol, so i was also wondering what the 'reserve' amount would be? ie when the light comes on.

i am reckoning it is

full to 3/4 = 10
3/4 to half = 15
half to quarter = 15
quarter to bottom = 10

reserve = 11?

i am just trying to work out driving styles to get an idea of mpg, ie ideal cruisin speeds on motorway so i have a little extra fuel to 'play' with on country roads lol.

yeah i am on a budget this month, roll on pay day.
