I've seen this review before, and I just can't get tired of seeing it again. Both reviewers nail down the strengths and weaknesses of the RX-8 (no mention of low MPG though) and give it plenty of praise.
One also has to remember that the G37 and Hundai are brand new cars while the RX-8 structure has been unchanged since 2003, and who knows, maybe before that.
I like how the one reviewer says “If you are looking for a cutesie sports car, look somewhere else”... On a different subject, what’s the Mazda hate? The one guy says he hates MAzdas? Oh well, at least there is ONE mazda he clearly likes

The reviewers opinions seemed to differ a lot on the rx8, but they both seemed to like it and were pleasantly surprised with how much they liked it.

nice!!
lebren - your car is clearly lowered no? what other mods? just curious b/c that definitely makes it "better" than oem.
edit: just noticed at 1:20 they say it's lowered...ignore me!

RX-8: Why didn't they test the updated version? I know the change from mkI --> mkII is not that significant, but still...
Genesis Coupe: What a surprise this little (ok not that little) car is. I really dig it. A great G37 coupe alternative.
G37S: This car has lost its luster for me. When the G35 coupe first came out, it was a sensational. Great looking. Sounds wonderful. This new one just felt like a wallflower. Plays 2nd fiddle to the 335i.
Bottom line: Both the Hyundai and Infiniti are sedan based with a honking engine tossed onto it. The handling shows. It wallows around. Not the RX-8 which is a ground up design to be a sports car. Alas, to me RX-8 is the only car of the trio that is competing healthily in Solo II. I can't quite imagine the other two will fair as well.

Did anyone else notice the hypocrisy of one of the reviewers??? He said the RX-8 is the hardcore sports car, made fun of his buddy who chose the G for picking a soft grand touring car and then turned around and picked the other GT as his favorite!!! Bottom line: there were two GT in the group and one real sports car. If you want a sports car, the choice was clear. If you wanted a GT, the only real question was whether you thought the G was worth the extra coin.

Thank you for sharing, Jason.
My cousin has a '09 G37s, and I have never liked that car. Although it has a very good amount of power and pull, it feels too bulky and heavy. It's absolutely nothing like how a sports car should be. When I first sat in his car, it was focused way too much on comfort and luxury. I have to admit though, the G37 is very sexy & sleek looking, and sounds amazing with an aftermaket exhaust (my cousin had a Greddy Ti-C installed). At the end, it's more of a grand touring performance coupe, yet still short of matching the connected driving feel of its primary target: The 335i.
I can't say too much about the Genesis Coupe, since I didn't take the opportunity to take it for a test drive. I'm sorry but I immediately lost my motivation of trying this car out further right after the salesman let me check out the interior. The steering wheel felt like plastic, and the finish and touch of the interior materials just weren't up to my standards. Other than that, the Genesis Coupe is one of the best looking cars on the road, and I don't doubt its performance.
