Road and Track to sponsor BK Sports Lemans car and Speedsource GrandAm RX8
From RotaryNews.com http://rotarynews.com/node/view/792
“Like many of the fans that attend the ALMS, Grand Am and SCCA Speed World Challenge race weekends in which Mazda participates, I grew up reading Road & Track,” said Robert Davis, Mazda’s Senior Vice President in charge of Research, Development and Quality, and the man responsible for Mazda’s North American motorsports programs. “And with Road&Track’s enthusiasm for sports cars and racing – and Mazda’s strong leadership role in open- and closed-wheel racing – this was a natural association just waiting to happen.”

Also the ALMS car, they've running with no sponsors last season and this season,.. maybe the tire sponsor but thats all. Good to see R&T is interested in Mazdas race cars. Maybe we'll see the return of 4-rotor sooner?

Go Texas Longhorns!
Well, we got 2nd place, another 15 minutes and we would have won first.
Both Porsche's blew their engines. We may be down on power, but you have to finish the race to win.

It was an awesome race. The Courage was by far the loudest car at the track. I got to get some up close and personal pictures of the car (as in I was leaning on it to take some of the pictures). I've got some good shots of the engine with the engine cover removed. Also got some nice video clips of it going by. It sounds a lot like an F1 car when at full throttle.
Personally I like the old yellow and blue paint scheme better but that's just me.

Yeah, outrageous race. That was my first time seeing the glowing brake rotors. The Vettes would glow the brightest. Braking into the chicane and then again after the carousel turn around the Astrodome into Turn 5 made for the hottest braking.
Here's one of the closeups I took of the 3-rotor:

it was a great race, they setup the car to finish and almost won the race,I think their strategy work really well, but they have to get more speed without braking the car, they were lucky that everyone broke but with the amount of money porche its putting into this program they are going to star finishin races.

I'd love to see your pics and video, if you wouldn't mind sharing. The team didn't seem to get much tv coverage.
