^ i concur.
it's really weird. i originally HATED the new look. but, the more i look at the pix, the more it grows. i don't even mind the rear that much anymore. i even wonder how the LED tails look at night. (anyone have pix?) the gunmetal rotary accented wheels are sick.
the only 2 things i still don't like are the steering wheel and the lack of the front + rear rotary accents. those were very unique, and sad to see them gone.
overall, the problem with the design is the 8 doesn't "stand out" as much, and is more tame. i'm personally more in favor of the radical looks of our gen 8. so many things stand out without any apologies. and, that's y it's so cool.

I have to admit they look good lit up like that. The rear bumper fascia looks very cut/chiseled in that pic too. Git rid of that damn spoiler though - it's already got enough for regular street use in the lip where the 3rd brake light sits.

VR is not the way to go with this body style. The pointed nose does not help this either.

For sure! Looking at this closeup of the 'snout' makes me think of a mouth guard boxers put in before a fight. It's so fugly with that black plastic thing sticking out, and THEN the freaking black plastic plate holder sticks out even FURTHER like goofy with REALLY bad teeth. What a load that looks like.
