As for the future 7 or replacement....don't expect anything from Mazda. They may suprise you, they may not. They are like Apple computers. You buy something and then the next day here is a better performer for the same dollar...or cheaper.

The only way I can see them building a new 7 is if it's either pretty darn expensive (+$50k range) or they kill the 8. That expensive of a car doesn't fill well with mazda's current image and a lower priced version would compete to much with the 8 and the mx-5.

Mazda already has the materials, the platform, the engine, and the plant. All they need is for the bean counters to turn the green light on and the car will not be in the 50k range at all.
