btw I think they changed the gearing on the ms rx8 to 4.7 instead of 4.4. I'm not 100% sure on the revenge battle though, but the one against the nismo z the driver mentioned the change of the differentials. After watching the vids there is no way a s2000 runs 1'09 best lap on the tskuba circuit especially with gan san driving.
I think the type r is dead on with the ms rx8, both best time trials were identical. Nothing to parade about either.
Motor Trend tested the 8 vs 350Z & S2000...it beat both of them.
Also another mag, forgot which one, tested it vs the G35 & Cobra...and it beat both of them also...
Not times, just overall (It was their TOP pick)

I had a "run-in" with the Golf R32. Car is very peppy. An experienced driver in a RX-8 shouldn't have a problem.
BTW: the r32 I'm talking about was moded with intake and complete exhaust.

A good friend of mine bought an R32 earlier this year. Last week, we went head to head at an autocross. Now, before somebody pipes up about autocross being all about the driver (true enough) my friend and I have a history of autocrossing head to head, but in similarly prepped Miatas. Typically, my freind would be a bit quicker than I. But we were usually pretty close in the Miatas.
Last autocross, me in my bone-stock RX-8, he in his bone-stock R32, in the wet, my best time was about 1.6 seconds faster than his, on a ~52 second course. So yeah, the RX-8 has a genuine handling advantage over the R32. To my friend's credit, he did beat me PAXed, though (which means even though he was in the slower car, he was the faster driver).

I've yet to drive an R32 and from what I've read the RX-8 is a better overall car stock. Of course you can't deny the fact that the R32 already has forced induction kits available. I could never afford it, but I've read that for around 30-40k you can twin turbo the thing. If I ever win the lottery, I'd probably have to ditch my 8, buy an R32 and make it the ultimate sleeper. Of course my 8 is probably the most amazing vehicle i've driven. I just wish there were some more aftermarket options.

RX8 14.5
R32 14.2
But, that probably can be made up by a good RX8 driver. What kills the R32 the most is its ridiculous price of $28-$30,000. For that money you could get a EVO or WRX Sti, or a better looking and better over all performing 8.
The AWD options is nice...
FYI, In the latest Motor Trend they say the next R32 will have a turbo or twin turbos and (I have not read it completely yet) they show you how to upgrade a standard VR6 Golf. That's the first time I see Motor Trend write an article like that. Check it out...you guys/gals might like it.

R32 a 30k~40k car... with that price even can buy a sti. or a corba.(with some great deal) I have no idea has ppl bought R32. maybe they mess up the name with that R32(skyline) ha ha.. . and I think 8 can beat R32 easily on freeway.... ha ha .. I just beat a 3series(bmw) on free way.. ya.. I know I should beat it up. but just wanna to mention our 8 is unbeatable on free way....!!! wuahahahahahhha... hope some sti or evo.. rx-7 cobra 911 supra guys doesn't hear that.. haha.. if not I will die so hard.. ha ha ..

0-60: 3.56 sec
1/4-mile: 11.7 sec @ 119 mph
Road course: 51.0 sec
150-to-0-mph braking: 742 feet
Total course time: 107.5 sec
Pretty nice if you have a extra 41 grand laying around for one serious sleeper.
