Geek example:
Dell computers are a very good example. If you ever open up a Dell server or desktop you will notice plastic ducting that manage the air flow throughout the chasis for more efficient cooling. It literally has passage ways for air to circulate. This not only proves to cool the machine better but it ensures reliability.
All Mazda has to do is "invest" on a good cooling scheme for the 8 using some duct work and it will pay off with less warantee work in the long run. Not to mention very happy Rx's!

correction hot air from the engine bay leaves thru a hole ion the fender behind the vent covers. look from inside your engine bay and you can see the light thru the hole. when moving the air flow over the car creates a low pressure area just over the vents which pulls heated air out of the engine compartment. but they could stand to be a few more square inches in cross section
