Dynos don't tell the whole story.

The new 3rd gen Miata is also getting poor dyno results. Mazda claims the ECU is the reason. Yet the new Miata performs about the same as the 2nd gen Turbo Mazdaspeed Miata, which typically dynos at 20+ more hp to the wheels vs. the 3rd gen Miata. Mazda has stated that the RX-8 is difficult to dyno too, this thread explains why.

Cuz I'm pretty sure ur #s are waaaayyy off from wut MOST enthusiasts are getting for MOST cars on MOST dynos under MOST conditions. Actually, I've never even heard of or seen an example of any production vehicle dynoing within less that 15% of its advertised chp.

Can you post a link showing such an example? Or how about a link to that graph? Mind sharing where this data came from? that's because they're on one of those worthless drum roller dynos, which are notorious for wheel slippage, alignment issues, etc.

You have to use a Dynapak or Rototest dyno that bolts onto the drive hubs and eliminates all the error BS

the graph is from Rototest, a well know swedish dyno manufacturer, maybe you should go flip burgers at McDonald's or something

Huh...I see. So those two are the only accurate dyno types out there huh? OK...if you say so. Well thanks for the insight. I'm sure every enthusiast on every online car forum will be delighted to hear their dyno #s mean squat when it comes to determining the accurate range of their chp from the whp # they got.

I won't contest you on this. If that's wut your experience has taught you, that's fine. I'll jus save my examples that support my opinion for myself & not try to "convince" you they're right. You're prolly right and apparently mostly Mazdas appear to have issues when dyno'd as compared to the large majority of makes out there w/ vehicles whose drivetrain losses appear to support my opinion.

I guess you Mazda guys are special or sumthin. Oh & ur comment about my future career placement is cute. Real cute!
