Looks like at least one of the folks at Valve is in love with rotaries too!

RX8_Buckeye 12-30-2004 12:02 AM

Wow that's awesome! Nice find.

truemagellen 12-30-2004 12:36 AM

I think this is a joke :p

PoLaK 12-30-2004 01:24 AM

No its really there. Pretty nice graphic the guy made too wonder if he's on rx7club or this one, those look like non-renesis rotors just a guess tho.

Rez 12-30-2004 02:50 AM

What level did you find that on?

RX Renesis 12-30-2004 03:22 AM

lol sh!t!! where'd u find that in HL2?

Luftwaffle 12-30-2004 07:51 AM

I can't believe I missed that. I'll have to go back and turn up my graphics settings to look for it. :D

09Factor 12-30-2004 08:16 AM

Looks like I have to get HL2 now. Thanks a lot...

w0rm 12-30-2004 08:24 AM

looks more like a custom spray- odd that it overlaps the grafitti.
What level is it on? I'd love to verify.

truemagellen 12-30-2004 08:35 AM

I'll buy HL2 just to see it as well, where did you find it (ie bump :))

Sorry I didn't take more pictures of the location where it's at.

It's on one of the water craft levels towards the end of that stage - after the alien dude gives you the gun. You reach some sort of factory place with tall concrete walls around you. There's a fork where on the right a combine soldier starts shooting at you and there's a bunch of junk he's hiding in. There's a windmill up on the ledge. If you go over to the right of the fork you'll be attacked by a bunch of headhumpers. There's a makeshift shelter and you'll hear some wind chimes. Climb up the ladder to the shelter and it will be there on the wall. It was a pleasant surprise when I found it.

trophymaker 12-30-2004 08:59 AM

That is the logo for Lambda Research or whatever, the company that the main character worked for.

Is this one of the rebel bases that got wiped out? The one with the crane full of supply crates?

No, it's 1 or 2 levels before you shoot down the helicopter with the water craft. It's some sort of abandoned factory or something. You see a conveyer belt structure up in the sky.

RXGr8 12-30-2004 09:10 AM

Sorry for the dark snapshot. When I took the picture on my laptop it was nice and bright, but for some reason the end result was dark. The rotors are in the central upper right, where the shadow is.

Luftwaffle 12-30-2004 09:36 AM

I'll find it when I get home, it should only take 10 minutes. I just have to remember to look... :D

ranger4277 12-30-2004 09:39 AM

What would be cool is if you smack it with the crowbar and the rotors start to spin. :) Don't try it unless you save though! Otherwise you'll damage the art.

Luftwaffle 12-30-2004 10:03 AM

If you go hit another wall a whole bunch, the damage marks should disappear. In Half Life, the default limit of decals was 200 I think. It might be a little more in this one.

trophymaker 12-30-2004 01:05 PM

Oooh cant see it at all :(. I thought you were talking about the bright orange obviously HL2 logo. Haha.

Turn up ur monitor brightness to 100% and 100% contrast.

truemagellen 12-30-2004 02:01 PM

just press 'Print Scrn' to capture...right?

No it's different with half life. Print Scrn is a system command. You want to use the Half Life command which I think defaults to F5. It will automatically save the snapshot as a file so you take unlimited pictures while you're playing. Just look at the keyboard options in half life.

Luftwaffle 12-30-2004 02:13 PM

Just grab your digital camera and take a picture of your monitor! I've seen too many people do this...
