Definitely a good article. I should send this to people who think they know why the Rotary fails, and start saying random things. Though, doesn't make it look any better, at least it's understood what's up.

^^still, like the article says...turbocharging is what takes the cake for rotary engines. as well as lower exhaust noise. and still low rpm torque.
what i really like to see is mazda actually address that issue as of the horsepower war thats happening right now. not as to keep its rotary owners faithful... but to launch an assault at the old time track arch enemy, the GTR!
we need displacement and forced induction to better compete with our rivals. and may mazda have the stroke of genious and come with the turbocharged 16x!

Ha I also save all my old SCC issues. I remember that article of old. Dave is a Really cool guy. He now works for Mazda USA and helped design the new MS3 suspension. He is also still a contributing writer for Edmounds and to this day still works with Josh Jaquote and Scott Oldham from time to time.
