I agree on the front end, looks more like Japanese rice.

But I like the rear end treatment, looks smoother and more natural.

I bet it is definately the fastest growing thread of all time for the rx8 club. Every time I look at active members, there are always around 20-30. Most threads will get this long in a couple of weeks, months, or even years. This one has only taken one day to get over 400 posts.

i'm pretty certain when the first shipment of RX-8s were being delivered to the customers back in 2003, those threads grew pretty fast too.

I bet when a fully redesigned Rx-8 comes out the amount of time it takes to get double the amount of posts will be even less. Thus setting a new record!

I'm pretty sure I was mistaken when I suggested that there were LEDs on the chrome strip. The more pics that I look at the more evident it is that it is just reflections. Would be cool though.

Exactly what I was thinking when I initially saw this.

Also think the side aero flares would look better.

I like how the dipstick is more accessable.

Wheels are nice.

Seats look excellent. I don't see why we wouldn't be getting these. Evos come with Recaro and these look like they were taylored for the car. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is the fact that it isn't using a harness instead of the normal seatbelt.

The front on the blue RX-8 is busier than it needs to be. My eyes crossed when I looked at it.

The silver has different fogs which tone it down a lot.

The MS wing looks great.

it looks like the rear bumper would be a straight one-for-one swap though huh?
Not only is the cutline between the fender and the front bumper completely different on the two cars, the headlight shape is also very different. It's not only longer vertically and wraps around the flare (for the reflector), but is also more bulbous and rounded in shape, not the sharp point of the current headlight. If you wanna swap bumpers, you'll have to do headlights and fenders too. Same with the tails, that will require the rear bumper also. May as well just trade in your car.

I REALLY like the MSPEED front end, and the black+white seats are badass beyond words. Thanks for the French link!

So far looking at the pics it doesnt do it for me unless it has some real HP and torque improvements , i wont be hitting it

I cannot believe that they have put the rear light reflectors slightly above the exhaust , knowing the amount of heat and oil burning capabilities of the rotary engine , the rear light reflectors will crack and melt specially if fitted with a bigger aftermarket exhaust .

I predict the sales of the tarted tricked up version 2 RX8 will be dismall , and Mazda will loose a lot of the rotary buyers to other brands in the next few years people will get frustrated awaiting the possibility of a 16 X ROTARY REPLACEMENT

Cheers
Michael

Unfortunately, while I think the Recaro seats are VERY sweet looking, I wouldn't want them in the car because I have family / friends who are on the larger side and might not fit in the front passenger seat.

I would have zero problems driving, but I'd rather have the regular seats as I know that they'd have room to fit since the seat sides go so high up on the Recaros.

Kinda sad, would really love to have those seats but they just aren't practical enough for a DD. If the car was a dedicated track car, I could see it, but .... /sadpanda

I really like the new rear end. The current rear end looks kind of awkward.

So how many recalls is this new RX8 gonna have? Or are they gonna get it right the first time?
