I love how the tail lights are led, but the center brake light is not.

IF they used the MX-5 trans, then that would probably account for the faster acceleration due to the shorter gearing. Someone should find the specs on the mx5 trans....

I personally love the tails and the rear end. They went very Audi style on that front end of the RS. The MS looks great BUT, whoever gets an 09 and then puts the MS front end on will have gaping holes where those MS fogs go...Unless they can get those fogs to use with the front end. I think the interior looks off with the 1960's style, straight out of the ford "box-o-parts" steering wheel, and the different looking tach...Sometimes less is more....

I might be in the minority but I like all of the new changes for '09!

Almost the same design but not quite.

Go straight to Home Depot and rig up custom intake hoses straight from the holes to a K&N....first performance mod right there

So, what time is the press conference scheduled at today?

Very, very soon speculation will be over and oficial specs of the new RX8 unveiled.

Really looking forward to seeing those!!!

Cheers

I concur Jird...it will be very interesting to see the specs. You seem to be a very observant person...can you tell by the pics what brand/size tyres are on it...?

your friend needs glasses. The Altima's a triangle shape with straight bars. The type RS' is not. The bars are curved with the wheel's arch to form a rotor. Very well thought out design IMHO.

Tires are 225/45-18, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A on the Type-RS and Yokohama Advan Sport on the Mazdaspeed concept.

If you take what he said literally then yes, they are not "exact" but you cannot question that at first glance they are the same.

I dunno, to my eyes it looks like 225/40-19 on the RS.

it looks a lot better in the video than these pics because the front bumper lip doesn't stick out (forward) as much in the video. Compare to:

Great pics. They will have to change that steering wheel to accomodate for the cruise control. I can't see it going anywhere else....

I'm pretty sure you could take out the new steering wheel, and replace with the old one. I could be wrong though..
