yeah. You can totally see the ford influence in the interior, especially the steering wheel and radio. Wonder how much money they saved by using a mustang steering wheel...

It's sad to see the effects of ford running itself into the ground affecting the 8.

They simply wouldn't be legal on our car because there would be no reflector.
Good point...I also think it won't be long before aftermarket tail lights will be on the market, the same for the seats and any other modifications....

I don't know, we haven't seen any aftermarket taillights for the 8 yet, and now with 2 flavors out I doubt we will. But, if you really want the taillights, swapping the new bumper (or any of the soon to be released aftermarket bumpers) plus the new tails will be an option... Just a more expensive one.

The fr mazdaspeed pics look great - although I could still do without the slats under the headlights, if we get that car in the us I could be trading up. However if purple is an available color over here, I might have to sell mine - PLEASE at least keep pink away!!!

Wow, lots of comments so quickly. Biggest problem I see is the front fender heat vents. There is a light covering it... smart.

the vents are fake/for show anyways, even on our current 8's.

Seats and Tail lights are the only thing this car has over the current model and the tail light was a close call.

Typical bad Japanese update, just start tacking things on for the sake of change. You lose the original beauty and lines the current car has in favor of a busy mess.

The still has overly small tail pipes and weak instrumentation. Steering wheel is awful and who wants to bet the most needed thing will be missing...more HP!

The good thing is it make me happy I own the current model.

The first gen 8 looked better, seems like they sprinkled a little too much ricer on this face lift. Car is just too busy, I like the nice clean lines of mine better.

That isn't a ford mustang steering wheel. It is the same one currently used in the MX-5, CX-7 ,and CX-9.

This isn't the version that's been homologated for our market yet if I'm not mistaking. I wonder if/what will be changed for us (besides the steering location).

I wonder how much weight all this gaudy crap, chrome and white leather adds to the car? Liberache, Rhinestones and Champaign anyone? The steering wheel and dounut must come from a parts bin...scary.
