Maybe I am missing something, but wouldn't the next generation rotary powered Mazda be called a RX-9?

 

It doesn't have to be sequential. What about the 1977-1981 RX-9? (Greece)

I personally would rather see it be called something other that RX7. Yes the RX7 was a great car, but make a new car that can also prove itself with a new name. Just my opinion.

 

Take a look at www.thetruthaboutcars.com This site just reported that the RX-8 is being pulled from the European market for failure to meet the new EU emissions standards. They also report that the new RX car is not scheduled to appear before 2013. NOT good news! In terms of sales, the car is dead in the US and now banned in the EU.

 

but the Euro-5 emissions came in to being for 2009 so why would it be ok for 2 model years and then suddenly not?

 

I prefer RX-6 - let's bring it back.
