mazda should bring the rx7 back!
and
create a luxury/exotic sport's car with 3 rotors w/ a turbo or SC for around 80k to compete with the big guys! <--- (As a Marketing tool for the rotary engine, obviously not to make money)
The rx7 can be just its little brother haha

With emissions even if it is possible to make 350hp on the Renesis it will never get here to the US... Wasn't that the problem when they first made the RX8? Im sure they have a faster, more powerfull renesis in Japan, no emission laws there... What makes me wonder is how does Dodge manage to pump so much HP from their hemi and SRTs and pass emissions and the rotaries can't? Engine management?

I am not sure why everyone thinks that the new rotary cant pass emissions. I am sure there are ways.
- direct injection
- 3 spark plugs per rotor
- 3 rotors with 1.3L+ or 1.6L of displacement
- lighter weight car
- aluminum engine
As you can see, the above things will increase the cost overall, but if the rotary still means something to mazda, they'll do this to keep it alive, and there will always be people buying a rotary.

next gen RXx
Yeah i saw the newest Motortrend at the barbershop and i came across the article about " Future shock: Perfromance sports cars" . They were showing all the new sports cars for the next five years , anything from the Sti to the new Ferrari F460. Well they had pictures of all the new cars that were coming out, but for Mazda , they had a box talking about the next RX-7 and how the fans want there iconic car to come back and how Mazda is listening now.
They said there target is to keep the next RX-7 light , sleek and sexy. Also target Hp is 300HP N/A.( IMO i think Mazda will shoot for 320-350 but have 300 as there base if all else fails. )
But the article said we should see our next beloved rotary car somewhere in 2010/2011.
I don't know about you guys but this makes me wanting to buy a used Z-06, new Camaro, or even purchasing a GT-R skyline on hold. I am looking to buy a one of these rides by 2009 , keepng my 8, but if there are photos of the next RX-7, and it catches my eye, i will be purchasing a 7. My 8 is my first rotary but it sure won't be my last.
Also motortrend online only has half of the article online so you will have to see the full article in the mag.

Plus the fact that my '06 CX7 saved my life on 7/30 as an idiot ran a left turn arrow. My CX7 was totaled, but I walked away. Aside from my 3/4 ton Crew Cab, we're owning Mazda's going forward. Sold the wife's '06 Saab Aero and got another CX7 and the RX8 for me. Performance is great, but the safety factors of these Mazda's are so very important. You don't realize it until you need it.

I had a similar expirience with mazda's and how safe they are in a crash, back in 1991 I own a 323 gtx heavely moded, I crash into the side of a 1986 chevy caprice the guy came out of his aparment parking lot without looking at the incoming traffic and very drunk, the caprice made about 3 turns from the impact, and the guy got hurt, nothing serious thak God, I walked away from that litle car without even a scratch, my neck did hurd like hell

A replica of the 787b or the 792p would do just fine, if you want a mclaren look a like with a 4 rotor try this http://www.ddrmotorsport.com/, he does v8's and mr2 engines but I have talked to Diego and a 4 rotor is not that hard for the chassis to have
It even has FD rear view mirrors
