2009 RX-8 at Fairbanks Mazda

Grey, Sport model.
Auto trans with the high output motor.
Direct port injection (I was told this one "will never flood")
Only visible outside changes are smaller (higher) fender vents with turn signals on the vents.
The mechanic said "it's not the 1.6 liter"; he had no other information on the 1.6 (or would not tell)

That mechanic needs his *** whooped for spreading misinformation. Injector location isn't going to meraculously fix that problem. Fuel delivery isn't the only thing that will make a rotary flood.

Well,

We all know how good Mazda is at keeping secrets. But on this occasion Mazda gave us in the recent press conference the important things about the new RX8.

If a new injection would be present in the renesis Mazda had stated that in the press conference. At least that is what I believe, but then again who knows the truth.

Cheers

Not BS, just mis-information perhaps. There is a pre-production grey auto 09 driving around. It was in GA a few weeks ago at the Mazda training center. I was showing a buddy of mine the pics of the new car and he's like, "Oh, I've seen that last week at school." I was quite upset.

Does that test piece have DI? It's not impossible. The techs were not, at that time, shown under the hood.

Paul.

altspace, I saw the pics you posted in the other thread but if you responded with the location of the dealer I missed it. Are you able to say what dealer those pics were taken at???

i can believe it if it is true for the 1.3, i can see them using it now working out the kinks so that the direct injection will be near perfect or bug free for the 16x
