However the upgrade is in terms of driving dynamics. One is a fantastic point and shoot car. The other rewards finesse in stringing together curves. You drive hard and brake deep to carry forward the momentum through the corners. The RX-8 reacts very well in this respect. It hates herky-jerky drivers that so many drivers that graduate from school of "Playstation" these days. To me the STi is like shots of Captain Morgan while the RX-8 has the characteristics of a bottle of Chateau Margaux that gets better with age.
