Impala SS, Camaro Z28, Camaro Z28 SS, Mustang GT, Mustang SVT Cobra, Mustang Cobra GT500... these are all the "real" versions of the respective cars. The low end, V6 models don't count. Who buys a V6 Mustang or Camaro? Posers. People who want the look, but don't want or can't afford the V8 perforamnce. But isn't the point of buying a muscle car getting the torque, sound and performance of an American V8?

This comparsion is between top end limited edition models and the "standard" full production models. Yes, technically the V6 is the standard engine in the Mustang and Camaro, but reread the above paragraph... what enthusiast buys the V6 model? Even car mags hardly ever even test them. I consider the Z28 and GT model to be the standard we're measuring things by here and the SS and SVT editions to be the limited edition models.

In this case the Impala SS wasn't faster than the Camaro Z28, nor the SS.

What the hell does the Crossfire have to do with anything? It's Chrysler and I'm talking Ford and GM lineup. Besides that car was a dog since it's inception and it's sales have reflected that as well.

This is why the rx8 is growing on me, its an underdog. Not many people are modding them either. Its okay guys if there is a ms3 or 6 that has better specs, OUTDRIVE him!!! Most people dont know how to race their "faster" cars anyways. They are usually just cocky punks, they are the fun ones to beat.

By the way, isnt this what the aftermarket is for? Make your car as fast as you want it to be. Go buy that turbo kit and learn how to drive her like you stole it. Specs can go out the window very fast when your on the street. I would be surprised if the ms3 could out handle the 8 anyways, dunno bout the ms6 but who cares the rx8 looks cooler anyways.

lol Hey look at the Mercedes E55 AMG (supercharged sedan), the E55 WAGON is actually 1 or 2 tenths faster on the quarter mile, but if anything i think thats pretty cool. Not to mention these are $90,000+ cars here

If it's ever released. Also, many here speculate that Mazda will go the brake/suspension route for the MS version rather than increased power. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I would love to see a MS8 come out and take back the reigns as THE performance car in Mazda's line-up (that includes being the fastest in 0-60 among the the other MS products).......but I just get the feeling they've already done everything they can with a n/a rotary.

I hope I'm wrong.

every mazdaspeed car (mps/ms not that special edition in japan but the MS world cars) have had forced induction. there is no reason to believe the MS/MPS 8 will be any different.

I wouldn't be surprised if they released the '07 w/o FI and then released a MS variant later in the year. If that were the case, everyone would be right! Of course, with this post, I'd be righter.

I keep hearing that there is another rotary car based on the rx-8 platfor that is been develop apart from the kabura type car, this could be a new model or its just simply the next gen rx-8, another intresting info I got is that they have been able to get 22% more hp out of the 13b renesis, but dont know how they dit it and that this is the engine that is going into the ms8.

but back on topic if mazda its going to introduce a refresh its got to be for the 07 year they need to injet some energy into the rx-8.

262HP would be Pretty cool in an RX8!!

I hope that happens.
