but don't play well in in gasoline engines at normal gasoline engine compressions. ramp up the compression to 15 or better and now you have the proper engine for alcohol fuels

Even the mods can't keep this thread on track .

A new thread for the fuel discussion would be wonderful.

Paul.

ETHANOL HERE
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...41#post2357041

It is not less effecient, fuel mileage IS NOT a measure of effecieny when you are comparing oxygenated fuels. The AFR of ethanol is about half that of gasoline. 6.5:1 ethanol is the 12.5:1 of gasoline.

I don't think hydrogen is a great fuel at all....

you are spraying oxygen in with the fuel....

part of the volume of the fuel (the gallon part of mpg) is oxygen which is not fuel so mpg of an oxygenated fuel isn't really fuel mileage.

You are quoting YOURSELF!!! In that post you are taking excerpts from an Ethanol website where they have altered the results to seem in their favor. Quote a neutral source that is not you!

Even if you subtract the volume of oxygen from Ethanol having to run double the volume to reach stoich means you have to burn a lot more ethanol than you would gas to have traveled the same distance.

Now can we please move this to a different thread, as was already requested by paul, or drop it altogether, as was requested by several others?

Here's a neutral source to get info from:

http://zfacts.com/p/436.html

You are trying to alter the results by saying it's oxygenated. Fine. Give me some unoxygenated alcohol. Better yet just oxygenate some gasoline with no other alterations to the structure of the fuel and then let's compare numbers. Show me where you can buy these.

If mileage isn't a measure of efficiency, I don't know what is!

No. I'll move them to a new thread leater when I get a chance though. I also am not going to go back and clean up the axial flow thread.

I'm of the opinion he will continue to change the subject or quote biased sources (drivingethanol.org - are you serious?!) when he's faced with facts he can't refute.

It's the precedent he's set so far.

In other news, the Axial thread is many magnitudes more polluted than this.

Someone whip out a crystal ball and tell me if the 16x will physically fit in an RX8. Or if they are bringing the RX7 back. Or if LSx small blocks will fit like they do in the FD's. New to this rotary thing but I kinda like it

back to this...
2 pumps? It's all electronic now, isn't it?

No wonder I couldn't see them. On top of the engine.
Do you have any pics Paul?

That's what I heard. I'm looking at a diagram actually and it appears that they are like a two stage affair. One pump is feeding 4 lines and the other, 2 (Probably the more centralized ones for the apex seals).

Anybody in Japan have a camera and a 2009 handy? Pop the hood and snap some pics under the cover.
