Question [Recall]: Renesis Diff between '06 and '05

About the recall, any ideas why they think the newer 06's don't have the engine problem compared the the rest?
What's not in or in the newer 06's that's making them not suspects?

Anyone?

By the time a problem is announced as a recall, the issue has usually been known for some time. Particularly issues that aren't safety-related. It takes weeks if not months once you know of a problem to decide how you're going (or even if you're going) to fix it on all the ones you've already sold. But it only takes a tiny fraction of that time once you know how to solve the problem to institute it on your new products coming off the assembly line. They instituted the fix for this problem on new ones a long time ago right when they found out about it.

thats not really true with my 8... the worst problem i have with the car right now is the tranny. shifting from 1st to 2nd is either very hard to get into or it wont get in at all in high rpm shifting. thats pretty much my main problem and others are just annoying rattles.

I have a late build 04 and I haven't had any problems so far. Now I have all the reflashes done and got them to put in a new battery when I bought the car. The car runs great and I'm having fun in it.

you didnt get the tps report? the 06 are being called back due to the frame being to weak, it starts to fall a apartt. if i was you ,i would ask your local tech about this weak frame recall. this is what happens to 06 if you do nto get it treated in a timely fashion

ps thanks brothervoodoo

sigma is correct up to a point which is that is the way things work. normally. the issue is over a year and a half old and it took them a year to find a proper solution. what changes were made to the 06 powerplants is unkown at this time but is mor ethan software. thats all there is at the moment.
thread closed- if you want to speculate please do so in the recall thread
