What were you doing, 110+!?
We were in a Z06 going 150 next to a ZR1! Both cars got hit by CHP laser guns and both of the cars were impounded for over a week and they charged for towing which was about eighty miles to the impound. Definitely a story worth telling over and over and over.

Got one for $316 in front of me right now. 46km/h over... 126 in an 80. I know I was a bit faster before he got me, because 3rd redlines a bit higher than that. Cop was a huge douchebag as it was at 1am on a deserted highway on my way back from my girls house. Real kick in the pants is that I parked my 8 for the winter the next day....

Atleast I wasn't doing 50km+ over the speed limit though, you can get your license taken and car towed right on the spot.

$332 for "50+" in a 25. Gonna go to court and hope the cop doesn't show up.. I already got an extension for it, but I'll be saving up $400 for the fine and traffic school just in case.

Ive had the inverse of that happen. One time I'm driving... someplace??? (forget...) and my friend is in the pass seat saying "car, car, car" instead of "cop, cop, cop". I was doing 85, cop proceeds to pull out, no sooner than that a while Altimaxima passes me doing 90 cop pulls in my lane about 5 lengths behind me trying to catch up. I dip, hop in front of a truck, cop passes me and takes out the Altima\Maxima. Both of us ROFL'd.

Ok, cheap ticket but one that could have been huge. Speedo pegged at 120 in a 25 and RPM climbing while racing a motorcycle (the car won if you count it as winning). Cops pulled up by blocking front (sheriff), rear (city), and side (city) but I was sitting on hood. Sheriff asked (harshly) how fast I was going as they couldn’t get me on radar. I said “Oh 25” (friend on bike whimpered).

Wrote up for 35 in a 25 and dared to challenge it in court. Last ticket I ever got (or should have got). July, 1989. Last ticket I ever got, now I’ll take it to the track or just let it pass. It was 4am on a Sunday but that is no excuse, wrong is wrong.

ugh, for the fact that no other thread is active right now i'll participate in these shenanigans

i got caught street racing when i was in my teens right when that stupid law went into effect for street racing for California (aka the worst place in the US to get a traffic citation). Went the full 9 yards and didn't get any breaks w/the exception of jail time. Didn't pay off the ticket in time so got more fines, never got my car back, didn't see my license for years and worst of all - i didn't learn my lesson.

Speeding tickets are pretty lame. Granted some times you may get them at times because cops are sometimes real asses about watching people's speed (ie 45 in a 40mph zone)but some times you're just asking for it.

My first ticket was this May, my first since getting my license 6 yrs ago...

130km/h in what was a 110km/h zone, but there was a construction speed limit of 80km/h, even though there was no construction (it was a long weekend, and a Sunday). It was still speeding though, but 20 over and 50 over is very different... =*[

I was doing around 105 in 65 when a State Trooper spotted me. Slowed down to around 93. He put 90 in a 65 on the ticket, plus drag racing. Btw, I wasn't drag racing, just speeding. Some dumbass blew right by me instead of slowing down when the cop first lighted me up. That idiot also got pulled over. Yeah, I was sitting there waiting while the cop took off after the other guy. I was thinking of taking off, but I decided not to. He called for back up, which arrived just a few minutes later.

I think my biggest was 120 dollars. 51 in a 25 but the officer let me off easy with a lower amount over. I got lucky because I could have technically gotten the 1000+ dollar fine that VA has (or had)

Man, you guys are epic... I rarely reach above 100mph, and usually hover around 80 when I'm on any highway..
