Your Most Expensive Speeding Ticket

How much was it?

Mine was $750, and that was two and half years ago. I still got another three and half years left to go before it will disappear from my driving record.

And how does that affect my insurance? About an extra $740/yr for the past two years.

Hmm. This is a good topic for me. I'm thinking the $900 I owe the state of california for a speeding ticket I got last january. I still have to clear this up if I want to ever drive in california . At the time I straight up couldn't afford it, so the $250 ticket eventually became a $900 ticket through a credit agency.

lucky me , didnt lose my license, insurance didnt go up, never showed up.

i guess MA laws are different but here speeding tickets stay on your record for 3 years

$270, 99 in a 70 on I-70 in Kansas in my Corolla. I still swear the cop only had 2 digits on his radar gun, because I was getting cylinder cutout from the speed limiter, which is at 110.

I've paid somewhere around $2k in speeding fines between 98 and 06 between MD, DC, VA, MA, RI, and KA. Last ticket was $75 for 82 in a 55 a bit over 3 years ago. Not a single one in my 8.

(Granted, now that I just said that...)

Maybe he was just doing you a favor?

100 in a 70 looks alot worse then 99 in a 70.

$500 in Ocean City MD last summer. I then went to a drivers improvement class and point system conference for speeding a long tme ago. I have 3 speeding tickets this year, one is 3 points, the other two are 5 points. I got one right before thanksgiving but the officer did not show up lol. I'm pretty much waiting on some letter saying my DL is suspended lol..... JK, points were not added, so I was lucky but ended up with a bunch of fines and court cost.

When my car is finished being rebuilt I won't stop next time....

165 in a 65, went to court, got suspended for 6 months and had to take a driving course, $4000. Not on my record.

Lawyer was worth every penny.

Cali is nuts for that ****. My Most expensive is yet to come, around January I think. 2x the limit, I'll keep yall posted. To date I think 200 ish for a 90 in a 50 but my lawyer dropped it to failure to yield (no points).

Damn, I don't know if you are lucky or what. I guess 6 months without driving is punishing enough............ lol

I was probably very close to getting a reckless driving one, I was doing 130+ in a 65 then I slowed down a lot to like 80 and found a cop on the side of the road with a radar.
