A month ago I posted saying that I got pulled over for having blue marker and parking light LEDs...soooo I sold them and bought the super white LEDs. Well I just got pulled over tonight and the cop told me he pulled me over for having a blue license plate light ...haha are you serious??? My license plate light is white. He said it has a blue glow...WOW..NY sucks. He also said my headlights were blue...I told him they were stock HIDs. He then perceeded to tell me that even though they are stock, they are illegal in NY. He said the same goes for tint...even if a car comes from the factory with tint, if it is 70% or under, it's illegal in NY.

It's the super white LED from RXstrakes.com. If it looks as if there is a blue glow its because my car is a WB.

Your paint is blue. That's illegal in NY with white light on it.

that sucks man, I can see where he may think it has a blue tint to it, but compared to a blue led, it's clearly a clean white light....they are just used to seeing the crappy looking yellow looking plate lights on most cars

I'm pretty sure that many luxury cars, like Lexus comes with super white led license plate lights as well from the factory..

that's lame...i think the blue of your car makes the white look "more blue" but the headlight deal is BS...cop was obviously just looking for stuff to get you on. I got pulled over tonight in my gf's car and since i didn't have my wallet on me the cop waited while my gf brought it over (we were like 4 mins from my house) and then he let me go! first time i was ever pulled over and not fined....lol. I would just pay the fine or switch out the bulb to stock and get it checked....then go back to what you have...what are the chances you will get pulled over for it again?

Unauthorized light use, color.

I thought about it and after I got home I jumped back in my 8 and went down to the station. I talked with the cop and a few others and got the ticket dropped, but I have still have to put the stock bulbs back in. But they are so lame.

Thats what I said...I told him that I could see if they were blue like the color of my car and I told him I had been pulled over because I used to have blue in and thats why I changed to white. Ontop of that I showed him the box that the bulbs came in that the label says super white. I would just keep them in, but where I live is'nt that big so I don't want to be pulled again.

Wow same thing kinda happened to me, except it was my side marker lights. They are Bright White LED's but somehow he thinks they're BLUE.

Already did and got the ticket dropped..But should I keep them in and if I get pulled again..then take it to court and fight it?

I would have went off on the **** bag. WTF is he doing pulling over cars for lights? is that what its come down to? what about the druges pimps? why dont he go after them? or red light runners
Think of it like this MazdaEight, you pay that guy to pull you over for OEM lights and white aftermarket lights.
Did he give you a fix it ticket? get a shark to help you out.

Unfortunately, I think we'll be seeing more and more of this until the economy turns around.

Police depts are being used as unofficial fund raisers for cities and towns. Lots of folks have been getting stupid tickets lately. Every cop that's passed me in the past week has been eyeballing my car due to the inspection rejected sticker, even though I have 60 days to get reinspected (obdII not ready when I went). Sucks, cause I want the attention off of me, I haven't even driven my new toy hard yet

That **** up man , thats what happens when they dont' have to worry about people taking red lights because of cameras . They now have to much time on their hand . Keep your light on the hell with them. I got pulled over because my plate cover not to long ago . Which I think is crazy.

Yep, keep em in. You could fight this one a thousand times and win each time. Especially since your bulb box says "White" and your car is a ridiculously obvious blue. Basically it all boils down to the cop being a dick and like others have said, he's trying to be a fundraiser. Oh and I'm sure you could also prove that the HID's are DOT approved and legal in NY.
