Yet another new 8 owner

Purchased a 04 MT/GT RX-8 yesterday that gets delivered oct. 08. Was a close call between this and a WRX STI but the aesthetics and rotary factor wowed me (and Mazda was pretty open to a deal on an 04).

Thanks to everyone in this forum - i lurked for quite a bit reading up on the issues and joys that you're having!

Excited to get my black 8 and take her for a spin!

Thanks all - am very excited. First new car although im an old fart (36), i just never drove a car i wanted to buy, but this one had me by the short and curlies. Didn't hurt that my 95 Passat died of electrical failure but i gotta say you folks are right on - this car has everything i wanted - comfort, leather, performance, handling, room for the kids, usable back doors, OMFG styling, economic pricing, innovation, and most importantly - FUN FACTOR. THe WRX was crazy fast but the car that made me smile the most (tested G35 sedan, 330ci, WRX and a Mini Cooper S) was the 8. Close second was the mini, but um, where do i put the groceries? WRX was sweet, v fast and fun but just didn't have something the 8 has. Guess im a convert.

IMO the black is the best colour for the 8. Keeping it clean is such a pain though.
I used to have my previous car washed like once a month. This one needs cleaning once a week. It gets noticeably dirty at the slightest drizzle.
Happy washing mate.

I just noticed you live in Vancouver. You'll need washing every other day. Bwahahahaa.

Yeah everyone here owns grey or silver cars. Part of the reason i got black heh, although mainly i just love the deep black on this car. I am already formulating strategy's - primarily Zaino it well, keep it waxed and then wash fairly often. Oh and use a lot of CFC's in daily life to try and increase global warming
