try growing up in a small town where driving past 9:00 pm is probable cause. I used to have about 30 of those little white breathalizer straws and would get pulled for nothing once or twice a month. I respect police, but let's face it, some of em are just ******** on a power trip and they ruin it for alot of good officers.

OK first off the guy who started this thread didn't bitch and whine and moan about cops in his first post, so how bout we stay on track and try and help the dude out. If you could...would you scan the tickets and post them here ((covering up personal information)) just so any cops here or anyone who would know what the abbreviations are can help decipher his 6 ticket nonsense and try and help him solve the problem.

Ok - actually trying to help the OP; wait, I got nothing. I'm really not sure why you accepted tickets w/o making him explain. After wasting an hour of my time, I would have acted like I was thick as a brick, and wasted some of his. How you got the ticket for no license is beyond me. If you've got family on the force, why not ask them? t'is all very odd. In your defense, I'd have been arrested if the cop was truly just being a dick. So you did better than me in that respect.

well my mom is in Florida right now and I told her the abbrv. and she didnt understand them, and belive me I tried to waste his time once i got the tickets, but it's cool though, im not really stressin it because it wont fly in court ( if he even shows up), and im going to request a full report on each of my tickets as well, so he'll have a fun day in the office writing a report on the 6 tickets he issued me. I cant wait to chew his *** up in court, As I think i said from the beginning , im just pissed that i'll have to miss a day of class and spend money on a plane ticket to travel back up here.

Can you hire traffic court lawyers in NY via phone and present your case to them and have representation without having to appear in NY?? $900 on a "routine" traffic stop? Man, I thought the fines in Cali were high. Good luck on your case. I hope all ends well.

hey, i got a ticket this past weekend for having tinted windows ... um, i dont have any tint anywhere. i told him so, he made me roll down my window half way (with the entire Chicago rotary community watching -- we were at the Rotary BBQ) and he claims since his white piece of paper looked a bit green behind the glass ... TINT! He was then going to go down the line and write everyone a ticket.

As he was giving me the ticket and telling me to just mail my money in, he informed me that Mazda is one of those manufacturers who "makes illegal cars."

I'm pretty sure my day in court will be amusing to say the least.

What an ***! I've always thought that most tint laws make an exception for manufacturer installed tint although now that I look, I can't find anywhere in our state law (NC) that says so. Although it does say this :

Hell, this dude spent an hour in his cruiser looking through all the books to see what he could write me up for. The thing that just pisses me off, is that I approached him (before he started writing any tickets) to ask if there was anything I could do as the organizer to make sure our group was in compliance with all the rules.

Oh BTW, he is a Forest Preserve cop with the same authority as an Illinois State cop.
