it wasn't that that bad, just cracked the ms rear bumper, some paint on the rear bumper came off.
but seriously, what kind of luck do I have ...
the traffic wasn't even fast, its like 15 or 20 mph, then this dumb *** car service car decided to bump my rear ... wtf man ...
fun part is , we waited like 2 fuxking hours cops never show up ... I called 911 like five times, they just like oh we couldn't find you I was like wow, wtf u cops are fuxking useless, how could u not find it consider I was on a major highway called L.I.E., and we were like right by the exit to grand central ...
so I took mad pictures, and got his insurance info ... gonna file the report on geico in a little bit ...

I was rear ended by a taxi on 42nd street and ~3rd ave in Manhattan. Cops showed up within 10 minutes. Every where else, they took 2 hours to arrive. They are ******* useless.
The operators usually don't give a **** about minor accidents. Next time someone hits me, I'll be sure to call 911 and say my neck is broken even though it's not.
I'm tired of driving in NY. I'm sure you can relate because every time we drive, we get at least 10 incidents where people almost run their car into you because they are not paying attention or simple don't care.

my first call, told them where I was, thinking it will be fast. 45 minutes later nothing.
Called again, told her more detail, I even told her Im at the section RIGHT ABOVE the 108 ST. they like oh ok. another 30 minutes, nothing.
Called again, they said they thought its for 110 precient but its actually 112. and they're on their way. nothing.
Another 30 mins. called again, said they can't find it. told them the same thing again. Im at blah blah blah. they said they're coming
another 30 mins or some ****, I called again, they STILL say they're coming. I was like **** u guys, then I just walk to the other driver and got his insurance info and left.
*sigh*

Seriously, that sucks. Not much you can do to avoid being rear-ended, just takes being unlucky enough to have some jackass behind you who's too busy to watch the road.
I see the NYPD is living up to its reputation. You should learn to fake an Irish accent for the next time you have to call, they'll help you then.

NYPD ... they're only good at giving people tickets. nothing else.
Was it one of those car service town cars that hit you? I can see it in the picture. I wouldn't doubt it since 99.99% of them drive like ********

hmm, speaking of neck pain ... I might have a little, but I have my own healtth insurance so im not so sure if I can get anything outa that.
for the claiming process , I have 2 options
'
go thru geico, get it repairf first, pay the deductible, and geico will try to get it back from the other insurance later, I might not be able to get any of them back
or
go thru their insurance
I think I might go with geico first and hope I get it back later, cuz I have a feeling if I go thru them first, they gonna give me mad **** this and that and probably not giving me anything
but im not so sure about geico's aftermarket part policy, they never covers them. but in this case geico shouldn't be worry right ? hmm maybe I should ask geico more ?
when I felt the bump from him, I was like how could this have happened ????? I was pretty mucch stuck in traffic and I got rear ended ?????

Whenever I see a Taxi driver hits a light pole or got into some sort of accident, I actually feel quite happy about it. Anybody can call me Evil on that, even my gf saids I am, but when I said do u have any idea how these mother ******* drive on the roads? she just speechless with that "I got nothing to counter you" all over her face rofl.
Good thing about Geico is they will not give you any BS about the repairs. They make sure it is repaired to the way it was. Usually the adjuster will give you a check of the "estimate" right away. if the damage is not major, you can choose to just cash that check and forget about repairing it.
bad thing about Geico is that, just like any other company, they low ball the repair, they know how much everything cost, so there is not much room for repair shops to make. and lets say somebody hit your driver side door, Geico's estimate is just replace the outer door panel, side mirror and paint, then when the shop open the door up they found out that the window rack is bent, and some other stuff, they have to call Geico up, WAIT FOR THEM TO COME, show them, then Geico will give them another estimate and the balance difference.
and sometimes, they will ask you if you want OE stuff or "3rd" party stuff. like my Honda Fit's glass claim, they asked me that, I was like "of course OE" stuff.
Not because OE stuff is higher quality, I choose it because I KNOW OE stuff cost a lot more than 3rd party like safelite rofl. then the next thing the lady said was "well if you choose to have the OE glass, Geico will only pay up to 2 hours of labor (or 3, I forgot), anything extra you gotta pay the shop directly. I was like OK. I know that garage will never charge me anything extra
The bill came out to be 811 bucksTo sum it all up. Geico is :
Pros :
- Fast Claim Process
- 90% of the stuff u can handle them all online
- If you go to one of their "recommended" shops, they will guarantee the work for the life of the car.
Cons :
- Low ball the repair cost, so some shops dont like Geico. Like my Glass Claim, the first shop I went to DOES NOT do Geico cuz of that reason.
- For certain older cars, they might try to fix it with some "used" parts. it make sense but, no one likes "Used" part(s) for a repair, right ?
- They dont cover aftermarket parts at all. even if you are willing to pay them extra. Unlike Progressive.
Im going to Call Geico tomorrow and tell them I will suck it up and pay the deductible first and see what they're going to do with the MS rear bumper, since Im not really getting it from Geico. fingers cross.
