wipers?

So, I have an 06 and it has about 24K miles on it. My wipers SUCK when it isn't like pouring. like a light rain, they just smear it very badly.

Someone suggested some spray that like repells rain? sounds like a gimic.

Does anyone have a solution or some great wipers they could recommend?

i spray with rain-x and use valeo wipers. i think the combination is fantastic and tire rack has the valeo wipers buy one get one free at $20. can't beat it.

I also wipe down my blades with the cloth after applying the RainX. It cleans junk off them.

I think the Bosch ICON's are the best. I've tried the other ones (rain x, etc).

Things I like about the Bosch Icons more than the others:

Ease of installaton, As simple as hooking through and closing the clip.
Look of the clip (the connectors are completely sealed in a nice, clean, black clip
Angled blades that contour to the windows
Durability..my last pair lasted 1 year and over 40k miles and they still worked fine (work better then any wiper i've used when new).

Also I would like to comment on the effectiveness of proper window cleaning and exterior & interior Rain X applications. The interior stuff really does reduce interior fog and I could imagine would be really useful if you live somewhere humid.

You probably have a film on the window that needs to be removed. Clean the glass with alcohol. Rain X will also remove window grime.

I went with the stupidly expensive rain-x wipers, they work great even when the rain-x spray has worn off the glass.

I've only had mine skip once, but i was doing 70 and the glass was pretty dry (return swipe in light drizzle). Only had them on for 2 months though, so it might be an age issue.

Cleaning the blades with rubbing alcohol and keeping the windows clean is key. I also think the Rain-x wipers are inferior to the Icon's but thats my opinion (ive used both).

The Bosch Icons are the best...they work good even in snow/ice and high wind, they look nice too.

Indeed, I can testify the Bosch do a remarkable job. I use them in combination of the rain-x windshield solution to repel the water. I hardly ever need to max out the wipers, for the water will just slide down the windshield even in downpours.

My OEM wipers lasted 4 yrs before the rubber started peeling from body. Replaced it with the Valeo wipers (buy 1 get 1 free). For the price, pretty damn good! Only thing that I would recommend Valeo upgrade/improve is the 18" wipers..the corner end does not contact the window. Otherwise, works flawlessly!! Smooth wipes with no streak marks and skips..and this is without the Rain-X!!

4 years without replacing wipers and you waited till the rubber started peeling off?
