Wiper Blades

Anyone change the stock wiper blades on their 8 yet? I'm thinking about buying a set of PIAA silicone wipers. I noticed Tire Rack is selling Valeo wiper blades. They're supposedly some new type of wiper. Anyone know anything about Valeos?

Not yet changed mine but always went with Bosch micro excel blades for $10 each and they last for about a year and some change, then you can buy just the Bosch inserts. They are good quality and the actual outside metal part does not rust and stays shiny black unlike the ones you get at walmart. Not sure about Piaa at $20 each, you might just be going for name? That's damn expensive unless it lasts a more than 2 years.

The PIAAs on my wife's car have lasted for two and a half years with no signs of giving up. Being silicone they don't stiffen up in cold weather, so they're less prone to breakage.

I've never liked Bosch. I've always ended up replacing blades every six months or so.

Has anyone gotten a set of "winter" blades? You know, the ones that are covered so that ice doesn't bind up the hinges and pivots in the wiper. Where can I get them?

One of the reason I asked about the Valeos is because they are framless which means they shouldn't bind up from ice or snow.

I might have to look into these... on my previous cars I've used the Bosch microedge blades, but had to replace them every year due to the temperature extremes around here.

I switch my wiper blades to Bosch Icons.

Link Here

I like them because they are frameless.

I've got Valeo. Love em! And besides that, they have a unique design.
Pricey.

Yes. Replaced them a couple of times so far(I like a streak-free windshield). Cake. Have only used OEM so I cant comment on other blades.
