My wife only likes the all tan.

Do you think this could be an option for 05?

 

I doubt it.I think mazda made an official statement saying the only changes to 2005 will be,white replacing yellow,satelite radio option,and something else that was small,but hey you never know!

 

I don't think all tan goes well in a sports car from japan anyway.

 

No, but you can get the cloth interior (e.g. with the touring package) and have the seats & door side panels done in leather by Classic Soft Trim (http://www.classicsofttrim.com). Better quality (IMHO) and less cost than spending the extra for the grand touring package, and you can pick the colours of your choice, including several shades of tan/beige. Someone else on here posted pictures of a CST red/black interior.

 

according to mazda no there will not be. i also would love to see a all tan interior. how does she like the black and tan leather? i personally think that combination is nice with a black car.

 

What do you mean "again"? There never was an all tan interior in an RX-8.

FWIW, I much prefer tan interiors in sports cars, luxury cars, whatever. Not 100% tan, it needs a black dashboard and black contrasting bits - the NA Miatas with tan interiors got it right, Ferraris get it right, etc. All-black is gloomy, dull, boring, lacking in style, and gets way too hot. Tan gives it class! The black and tan isn't too bad, but more tan would be better.

I think he's talking about again from Mazda (like in the RX-7), not again in the RX-8.


How common is tan interior? My last car was black with tan interior (Chevy called it neutral). When I traded it in the salesperson said she's never seen that combination. My current car is black with grey (aka graphite) interior. I liked the tan better.

 

Don't not buy the car because of this!! Have you taken the wife for the TEST DRIVE? Do it, many will agree with me when I say....you'll own one after you do that.

yep get the special shinka edition- the interior is called "parchment" which is more off white than tan. but you bettter hurry and get a downpayment on one soon- only @2000 are coming to the states.

Dunno, can't you get the tan/black leather? That's what I got.

 

flnsx, did you check out Classic Soft Trim? I used them to get the black/yellow interior I wanted and very happy with the results.

 

Why bump this thread after more than a year? Are you not happy with the Shinka's tan interior? The '06 Shinka will come in a new color this year, Copper Red, and will have tan leather seats with matching alacantra (suede-like) inserts. Very nice if you ask me.
