Question Will MPS parts be made available for non MPS RX8s?

I already put my money down for a new RX8, but if a few months later is going to be a MPS version I'll wait for that ... at least that I could buy those MPS parts (supercharger, turbo what ever)and install them in my car with all warranties etc.

Any idea how they do it for the other MPS cars or how are they going to do it with the RX8?

Thanks

Reliable rumour is that it will not be with the assistance of forced induction. This means that the MPS version might be gaining it's extra 50 hp by methods that won't be too easy to bolt on (in other words, there might be internal parts). My point is, I wouldn't bet on being able to put every MPS item on an existing car before details are announced.

Oh, and just because the MPS has a warranty from the factory, doesn't mean that you'll be able to slap on those same parts, and still be under warranty. At the most, you will probably have to have those items installed by authorized people (i.e. certain dealerships), at the least, the warranty would be voided as if you bolted on something from HKS or Greddy.

I don't know if the mps relese date was comfirmed, but if it is that close to the release of the regular 8, you might be better off waiting. Also if you bought all of the parts seperate and managed to make your car almost idential, it would proably cost more than the stand-alone price of the MPS 8.

Not only is there no MPS release date, Mazda has not announced a MPS version of the rx8. Anyone telling you anything else at this time is purely speculating!

Hell, nobody can tell us what the car will cost or even what options packages will be available.

Speaking of speculation, the same reliable sources suggest that it will be a good while after the initial release before a Mazdaspeed version shows up. But that's the kind of marketing ploy that you'd expect.

Question At what cost

Here is a comparison of adding parts to a car to bring it up to the same level as a specialty car. If you could buy all the extra parts at cost and have no cost for labor, it would cost you just over $8,000.00 more to build a Mazdaspeed Protege out of a regular Protege. That makes the Mazdaspeed Protege a real bargain. Tha coupled with limited production may explain why some dealers do try to sell them for over-list.
If you want that kind of car, wait for the Mazdaspeed RX-8. Not only will it cost less, but everything will be covered by the four year, 50,000 mile warranty.
