Will doing your own oil void your warranty?

I think I will have the first oil change done by my dealer because I have heard Stretch Armstrong puts the oil filter on in Japan. But I have fears of bringing it in each time to the dealer because of the various overfill, wrong oil issues. If I do oil changes myself and I have engine problems later on can this be reason to deny warranty claims?

No, you are perfectly entitled to do your own oil changes or to have them done elsewhere (JiffyLube etc.) What you DO have to do is keep receipts for the oil purchase and filter purchase, or the receipts for the work if done elsewhere. You need to be able to prove that the vehicle was maintained according to the manufacturer's schedule, and typically purchase receipts for oil and filters are considered acceptable proof.

Gordon

NOPE.

Changing oil is a user servicable maintaince. A dealer can not deny warranty do to any thing that is user servicable. (Tires, oil changes, air filter replacement, etc....) Now if you ran your car out of oil that is a different story.
