Question Will Dealer Help Me?

I apologize first off just in case I missed a thread discussing this exact question. I'm sorry. anyway, I would love to get an aftermarket exhaust and intake sometime in the near future. been saving up and everything, but what always worries me is the warranty. I know I have seen somewhere on the site, that theres a certain Act passed by the gov. that prohibits the dealer from voiding a warranty because of an aftermarket installation such as an exhaust, unless its the cause of your problems. Now they may try and blame you, no matter what, that it is the cause of the certain problem, and whatever **** happens.

anyway, i really just wanted a clear answer, does installing an aftermarket exhaust/intake void the warranty ( I know I may have answered my own question already, just want a clarification).

Will the dealer install any aftermarket performace parts that YOU purchased, or is that completely out of the question??

Is installing an exhaust and intake very difficult?? i've done handy work in the car before. and im not a moron. thanks

to deny warranty work, the dealer must prove that aftermarket parts are what caused the problem

+1. Hard to prove that an aftermarket exhaust is the cause of engine problems. Should not affect warranty.

Best way to assure they don't void your warranty: Have the dealership do the installation work. Go make friends with the Service Manager.

If you're really worried about the intake and exhaust you could just go with Mazdaspeed parts. You can buy them from the dealer, have them install the parts, and Mazda guarantees they won't void your warranty.

What are their labor rates? Are they different for body work / mechanical?
