The color green (Nordic or otherwise) wasn't listed as an option when I ordered the car in Montreal Feb/March. Nordic Green is a beautiful color, yes. But I prefer the Titanium and so nothing would have changed, in may case, even if I knew about the availability of Nordic Green.

First off I wanted a two-tone interior. I ABSOLUTELY loved the black/yellow and the black/blue leather of the concept/pre-production RX-8. If that was available I would have gotten either Lightning Yellow (1st choice) or the Winning Blue (2nd choice) exteriors.

Since they weren't available, then that left me with only the black/red leather or the chapparal. I didn't care for the chapparal, so that left only one. The White Pearl exterior was unavailable, so scratch that. The Lightning Yellow and Winning Blue didn't match the black/red interior, and were unavailable anyways so scratch those two cars. The two grays - Sunlight Silver and Titanium Gray were too common colors for me, so scratch those. The Brilliant Black and Nordic Green were too dark (upkeep and Florida heat factor), so scratch those. That left one color for me, and you know the rest of the story. I'm VERY satisfied with the Velocity Red, especially the way it changes color depending on the light source, time of day, etc.

But, none-the-less, if I wanted a classy looking ride, I think the Nordic Green, along with the Chapparal interior, is sweet! People that are getting that combo shouldn't be disappointed. I wanted the sporty look, hence the red/black for me.

About the undefinable color of the green-

I had a Honda a while back that was technically grey, but in the light it had purple tints, we used to call it "smokey grape".

Just thought that was funny, I'm getting a second car with a hard-to-distinguish color - and I'm color blind anyways!
