Why I love my 8
In a word, its awesome...the 6MT tranny is smooth and functional, corners are a thrill, starts at green lights are a major grin factor, pulling into second and third is exceptional, the exterior is unique and draws eyes, the interior is functional and comfortable, the sound of the Renesis rotary is too cool, it wants to rev up, it's a fab car to polish and gleam and take care of, but most of all it's mine, and it delivers So why do you love your 8?

1. It's a great place to store extra stuff since I have such a small apartment.
2. It keeps my parking spot reserved at my apartment
3. If I keep the battery charged it has one helluva system in it
Ok, I admit, I'm having withdrawls. You know how if someone passes away all you want to do is look at pictures or things that remind you of them? Maybe that's why I spend 8-10 hours a day on this site.
I miss the performance, the sound, the attention getting. I miss having a fairly unique car from every one else. That's what makes me really love my '8. (plus she's playing hard to get)

Hi czr...the little things thread is good, but there are too many posts and as I read through it I lose perspective on what the 8 really means to the owners. My point in raising this thread was to resurrect a certain admiration for the 8, not something that delves into the complete unknown....lol

THATS why I'm in love with my 8. As a 6'3" guy, I've always felt rather awkward and clumsy. But when I get out onto the backroads and into a rythym.. it's just magical. We dance into the corners, and sing out of them. Not driving recklessly or even all that fast, but simply being fluid, graceful, delicate. The 8's design captures an intangible feeling that's impossible to explain, but wonderful to experience.
Very, very few cars have that magic, regardless of their horsepower numbers or track times. Many other cars may be more impressive, but I don't know of any that are more rewarding.

Haha, no kidding! Must we get emotional about everything?
Yesterday I was at a stop light with my window rolled down and the guy in the pickup next to me yells out, "Hey! I'll trade ya!"
That's one reason I like my 8. Because a lotta people want it and I have the privilege of owning one.

I like the car so much, because it is so unique. I see a couple a day, but i see 20 of everything else on the road.

The "on rails" handling & steering.
The smooth rev that keeps going up and up and up.
The gorgeous dash. Best one out.
The unique factor makes it even more fun.

Me too. Whenever I drive it and whenever I look at it, I can't help but think "god, I love this car." The high reving butter smooth rotary is so fun to shift and the handling and steering is just so connected to the road, I could drive the car all day...

I love it because it's like a really hot girlfriend. You're in heaven when your "driving" it and thinking about it when you are away!
All that performance stuff too! Not to mention the uniqueness (I NEVER see any others on the road, except when I pass by the Mazda dealership).

Last night behind a twit going slow in the left-hand lane, I goosed it and we just whispered past him on the right. Days ago I took a sharp turn much faster than I usually would, and it took the corner like a cat.
Sure, I like the normal things like style, unique sound, the tight steering, great suspension, comfortable interior, the looks from other people, etc...
But more than anything else, it keeps reminding me that it has so much more to give.
