Yes, yes it can! 2 seconds is even better The difference is feel of a cars that go 0-60 in 5.9, 4.9, and 3.9 seconds is huge, as is the difference is feel of a car that traps 5mph or more higher in the 1/4 mile.

LOL - I agree. However, I think his point was you don't miss what you haven't tried and if you're having fun why worry.

LOL, again I agree.

However, who's happier? The bloke who loves his car the way it is or the bloke always hankering after something faster?

People that have Down Syndrome seem to be about the happiest group of people I've ever come across. Does that mean I want to run out and get me some Down Syndrome...

RX-8's are slow in a straight line. Either deal with it or go turbo/super!

A ridiculous comparison when you're splitting hairs over tenths of a second. None of the vs. threads involve 10-second cars or better. Such near performance in the straight-line means 'drivers race' and the driver/owner is assumed to be constant, not variable.

Yeah, always true, but the day I decided I would nurse my old Subaru along no further I started looking around at the other cars on the road - boring, ugly, and not-for-me is all I saw. Very few models on the market appealed to me. The RX-8 was leading the pack and a few test-drives proved it..... to me.

Maybe we should remember - we don't have to prove anything to owners of other cars or even each other.
* We already made our choice so vs. threads don't help us.
* Owners who race competitively tend to do their own real research and reading the ridiculous posturing in these vs. threads isn't research.
* Members here who are prospective buyers need test drives and their own first-hand experience more than they need anyone else's opinion.
* ...and the trolls.... well, I just keep hoping they'll get flushed.

That cover it for you Skiptomylue?

I think this is the most mature post I have seen in my tenure here. Bravo.

yeah, it covers it nicely, im happy with my car, my other car was faster.. it was also louder, shittier interior, less comfy, and you could feel every bump.. everything is an upgrade cept for the low end torque.but whatever, i have yet to get either of those cars to try and race me....... i seem to attract a lot of Sunfires and caviliers with nice big mufflers trying to race me all the time

then i ponder over to the Chevy website, and the honda Website.. and find out that both cars dont equal it at all.. in power... i mean.. looks. handling everything else is a given.. but the ss only has 200 hp and 200 lb.ft of torque. and the Si only has 197 hp, and what not.. so why does everyone comapre those kinda cars to the rx8? the way i look at it.. the rx8 is almsot putting to the wheels, what the civic SI makes at the engine... its better
my two cents
Not "everyone" does. Check out how many members are on this forum. Check out how many people respond to the "this vs. that" threads. See the ratio imbalance?

Test on Friday.

Let's start a RX-8 vs. Ford Model A thread, then we can build on it and slowly work our way from A to T...I think Bascho would be down for that...

Or perhaps a RX-8 vs. Yugo...

I think after you blew THAT guy off, he came lookin' for ME. Some kid in a Sunfire with a ridiculous body kit and a Saturn V booster protruding out from under the "bumper" tried to get me to race him yesterday.

What does it say about the RX-8 that kids in Sunfires think they can pick on 'em?

If Ike didn't say the A was faster, he'd at least say they're closer in performance than you think.

Or say that the A is a better value for the money.

I am yet to see Ike say one positive thing about the 8, and I remember him saying that he liked them, but wouldn't get them or something.

Your comprehension skills are lacking, aren’t they playdumb? I've actually praised those cars on this board, why don't you show me where I unfairly "trashed" ANY car, I’ll buy beers for this whole thread if you show me!

The worst I've said, I think, was calling the STI a “stat toy for imbeciles”, which is obviously flame’n the drivers and not the car…I still think its funny. I picked on this because some of those owners are usually filling the RX8 vs. threads here, guys who have shown themselves to be obsessed with stats, particularly selective ones. This type cracks me up, who believe they calibrated their *** hairs so well that they can feel fractions of a second, or think they can actually drive any of the cars discussed here to their full potential, on a track or anywhere. LOL.

Unlike you, I'm not here to make friends or kiss *** playdumb, just calling it like I see it!

Hahaha, BlueEyes that was top shelf humor right there! I think that picture deserves a rotation in my screensaver slideshow.
