You are so going to get flamed for this....

But Ill bite.

It costs alot because its not just about ripping off a sticker and giving it back to you, its about body work removing it, filler to get rid of the holes, paint matching, proper application, and Mazda colors are expensive.

Flame away. Viable question. For my tax return I either want to debadge or save for a new kit.

your best bet is to have the debadge done when getting the kit put on it would be cheaper in the long run

Because to do it right, it takes time and skill. IMO, it is a must. But I am a bit bias

I personally like the badges. They add a bit of character to the back. Plus, it also gives a name to the people in the vehicle you're passing on the highway

It's amazing how little you see the badges when you're driving the car

so what? doesnt matter if its plastic or not [the trunk is not plastic]. its not just glue holding in there. most of them have holes.
3 for the front emblem

2 for the rear emblem

0 for the "RX-8"

3 for the "Mazda"

if you like your car having holes, then yes its cheap. but to have it done right, you have to have the emblems removed, have the holes filled, have the whole bumper/trunk prepped and painted to match the rest of the car.

if i were you, i would wait for a body kit, or an accident [if it ever happens]. you can just tell the shop to just remove it when they do work on your car if its the part that happens to be damaged.

Exactly what I did. However, I left the badges on the back. Just personal preference. I think the back end looks funky debadged. And its not that much money. A couple hundred bucks.
