Why does the 8 take longer to start?

mine takes "longer" to catch that any other new car I've had. A friend of mine has an S2000 and he just goes nuts everytime I start my car...loves the winding up sound like a jet engine. His, on the other hand, starts practically instantaneously.

I asked my dealer about that same thing and according to them the rotor chamber is preoiled those first few cranks before it actually injects fuel and fires. From what I've read about the car in the tech reviews I think this is right.

Really? I always thought that one crank was way too short (like 1/4second) vs 2 cranks (which is 1/2second). I'll give it a try. Perhaps we are talking about the samething (just my definition of a crank is messed up) ... either way I turn the key to ignition for 1/2second and it starts.
