Why do?

I'm new to this site and every time some one ask about making the 8 faster some people up here get twisted???? Most of my friends drive Z,s or 240,s eclips,s... I run consistantly low 9's in the 1/8 and have run 14.4 in the 1/4 with a basicly stock car. Just an intake and exhaust, stock mid pipe. I will have some sliks next week to see if I can hit the high 8,s next week in the 1/8. If i'm not mistaking the fastes 13b runs 6.9 in the 1/4 so the rotory with enough money can be as fast as you want it!!! Why do some of you guys beat up on people so much? Just let them know how much it will cost and let them figuer it out.

A Maxima will run the same numbers, but more easily.

I'm new here as well, but I think it's the steady stream of "why can't I beat my friend's z/sti/neon?" posts that seem to crop up.

The 8's not a drag car, and it seems kind of silly to spend a lot of money to make it into one, when you could just spend that money on a good drag car.

Or spend the money on gas, and go find some corners.

More easily? I'v drivin a lot of cars. Hell my girlfriend has a sl55 AMG 490hp and I'd still rather drive the 8. I have a total of 150$ in mods to my 8 and the only stock Z that has beat me sprayed a 60 wet on me. I will put the ZEX blackout kit with the BHR spacer and fitting soon for a little surprise!!! Going fast cost money thats all! The more money you have the faster you can go! Drive what you like. The 8 is the most universal car I,ve driven! twisty raods fast, geting sideways easy, drag racing quick just don't, spin control the clutch!

this thread is gonna fail pretty damn fast.

as far as the fastest 13b goes there are a lot of different versions, its like saying the fastest 350 small block but there are a huge number of various types.

and just in short people get twisted because these threads are stupid and the rx8 is not a 1/4 or 1/8 mile car, its a real track car and furthermore there are a plethora of these threads already out there and your just being lazy and not looking on the forum. We dont need to clog up the forum with more and more repeat threads of the same thing over and over again.

I drove my 8 down the strip to get a laugh as the flames blow out the back. That's it.
Drive the 8 to the drag strip, not on it.

Honestly, I did it because the rotory cars intrest me so I bought one. I enjoy driving it but I too wanted to make it faster. I did the reserch, didn't "ask stupid questions". Found that it is probably better to just drive and enjoy the car. But some people have never been in a motor or know anything about a car other than the saw one race in a movie and thought it was cool. They come up here and ask a simple question and get blasted all to hell, from the very people that can help them understand what they have. unless mazda can work out the gas milage and emisions problems with the new 16x the 8 my be the last rotory. help people don't beat them up. send them to BHR, esmiral, mazdatrix, and let them see what it will cost and let them make up their own mind. But don't beat up the people that love the same car you do????? Makes no sence to me.

I'm not beating you.
I'm building an Austin 1100 and putting a 13b in it for the drag strip.
It's embarrassing getting beat by a Plymouth Neon at the drag strip in the 8.
You'd need boost for sure, and weight reduction for an 8 to be competitive.
You get these responses because it is an awesome road course car. That's all/

He reads the threads and then asks why you can not make it faster.

OP I understand what you're saying.
But, we get new people asking the same questions all the time.
What they need to do, if they choose to venture into the FI world is to do their own research, and lots of it!
The problem is, they usually sound like kids who want to beat their friends to school, and that's reckless and careless. Doesn't sound they they have the maturity to dive into something with MOAR POWA. Therefore, they need a little spanking to let them know that they need to think about what they're saying...

Keep the 8 as your daily driver and buy a '95 Mustang for the drag strip.
