When is considered a good build date?

Hello,
I'm just wondering if there is a certain production date of rx-8s to consider as "more reliable". I'm looking at MY2005. So far they are built in the summer of 2004.

Pretty much anything built during 2004 is identical. (2004 and 2005 models)

Some TSBs (service bulletins) need to be done to bring the car to current standard but as long as the car is under warranty then there's no problem.

I would consider any car built in 2003 to be slightly more likely to have problems than the other build dates, but there's no way for me to back this up, and major changes/fixes alone the way are retrofitted to the earlier vehicles.... so it could well be opinion skewed by issues that were later fixed.

Only real thing to look out for are the car's that get 12 mpg no matter how you drive it. There's no fix afaik.

No 2004 models. There are some threads about 2005 models.
