sucks though dude.. as someone else said.. karma will take it's toll.
Yeah, brand new GT2871R turbo in the trunk (I had just taken it up to a local shop to see about some fab work) and nice radar detector in the center console. They didn't break the windows and try taking anything else. I think they knew enough to just stick to the wheels. Pretty bold though considering I live in a townhouse and any number of people could have looked outside while up for a midnight snack. Bastards.

If you guys see a shiny set of R1 Racing Drift wheels for the Rx8 on Ebay let me know. :P

No ones sadly, it was based on pure jealousy because I worked my *** off in HS to get a old BMW, which I then traded for a S14 240sx. People I WAS friends with were jealous because they didn't do **** with their lives, didnt try to get their license and didn't work for what they got. I eventually fixed everything and got it resprayed with my friend's help but people just kept trying to do ****. I even got it stolen and towed when I lost my keys at school once.

The car that got vandalized... it was so clean

I hate jealous *****.

I never understood jealously. When I see someone with something I CANNOT have at this given time, I get inspired as opposed to getting an urge to ruin their ****!

Just me I guess.

my 8 (bought barely a month ago) got egged last week... found it in the morning, called work to let them know i was going to be late and washed that **** off... one goddamn egg... not two, not a dozen... one... wtf? i didnt **** anyone off, i dont even know anyone in my neighborhood... stupid kids... it left a ring of what looks like stone chips around where the egg hit.

granted the extent of the damage to my car doesn't compare to yours, but i definitely know the feeling

Looks like someone has been trying for about a week to do the same thing to me. For about a week now, I've had lug nuts vanishing from my car when I go to my wife's office to pick up our daughter. I installed locks, and it stopped until tonight, when I found the lock on the right rear wheel was the one taken. I suppose I get what I deserve, having bought them at AutoZone ( ). I've ordered a set of Gorilla locks, which I had good luck with on my 2nd gen RX-7 from Summit Racing, though I know nothing is foolproof. At this point, I just want it to slow the bugger down enough for me to catch him or her and turn him or her over to the cops.

Regrettably, as I work out of state, my carry permit for my state of residence isn't of use here.

Sorry about your losses. Hope this isn't really a case of thread-jacking (apologies if it is).

I'm still working with my insurance company to take care of everything. The local Mazda dealership is going to do the bodywork when it gets approved from insurance. In the meantime the car is still balancing on a stack of bricks and a pointy rock. I refuse to go buy tires to put on the OEM rims until the insurance company says they will pay for it. I'm not going to be out -more- money just to get the car on 4 wheels again, at least until they clear it.

Well, there is an upturn to this story... and some pictures to follow tomorrow. My folks had lent me a 15 year old Toyota Corolla to go to work today, which was incredibly depressing. Fortunately I work with an awesome guy who is lending me his fully restored Porsche 944 Turbo until I get my car up and running again. Pics tomorrow.

Weaksauce man. I know how it feels, I had one of my cars stolen a little over a year ago.

Not to put a damper on things, because I wish you the best of luck, but I would be surprised if insurance covers the wheels. At least in Canada, the insurance co's are real sticklers about covering undeclared aftermarket parts, and with good reason, they didn't know they were insuring it.

Good luck.

Oh he is insured... I'm parking it RIGHT next to my car with my window open and a 12 gauge loaded with hollow-point, double-magnum slugs next to me.

I'm not kidding either.

When I lived in Boston, my rotor shaped valve stem covers used to get ripped off all the time to the point where I gave up. Never did see any kids with them on their bikes but rest assured had I seen any bike with them on (and lets not kid ourselves those things stand out), it would have been snap punk kid's neck first ask questions later.

those ******** will walk around some nice neighborhood to find their targets. because they know that people living in a nice neighborhood will have more money to mod their cars, best of all, they have very little sense of security, thinking that a safe neighborhood is really safe.

I live in one of the best community in NYC. still I've seen a couple of cars without wheels, at least they have bricks in both front and rear lol Actually one time someone stole the RX300's headlights in front of my friend's house, he was still up playing some MMORPG. the theif was banging the car he went out take a look, and yell at him Like HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING. He just bang even more and jack the lights out. It wasnt his car, he rented the 3rd FL. the car belongs ti the 2nd FL people. they were speechless. I ran there too. lol

So last night around 4:30-5:00 I heard some clinking of metal outside. I left the window open and I'm a very light sleeper. If I had done this the other night I absolutely would have heard the thieves. Anyway, I slipped out my door and ran around back with a shotgun but it was just a possum digging through cans.

I decided that I'm only going to borrow my friends Porsche for a day or two because I don't need the stress of worrying about someone elses car too. I have a friend who has connections with the local police departments so he is pulling in some favors to try and track down the stolen rims. I sent a bunch of pictures and information (receipts etc) up to the insurance company last night, so hopefully I'll get a verdict from them today.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a good theft deterant system? A proximity one or vibration based one? Mysql, which one do you use?

I am driving into town on Friday, bringing my pair of jack stands. Anyone else in the area down there with another pair willing to help him get the Shinka off the rocks/bricks? It's painful enough to see it without it's legs, no need to keep adding insult to the injury.

Shouldn't his insurance company cover a towing company getting it off the rocks? It needs to go to a body shop anyway. If it was my car, I'd rather do that than have it sitting up on stands in a parking lot.

Sounds like his adjuster isn't providing much service.

Happened to a friend of mine [not that surprisingly] in Brockton the other day and he had locks too on his Lexus ES300 wheels. At least they had the 'decency' to use cinderblocks.

Sorry to hear that.
