Red face What's needed here?

On the inside of the passenger-side door, on a part of the hard plastic, there's a little bit of sticky goo which has been there since I bought the car. I first tried a little soap and water to no avail. Then I used a little bit of vinegar...then Windex with ammonia...then a very light touch of rubbing alcohol. The area is not real obvious but is still sticky. Any suggestions on what will get rid of it once and for all without damage to the plastic?

WD-40 but watch out, too much and it might destroy plastic.
