what would be ideal

if you were to buy a rx8 over again right bout now with a 12k limit

a 06 rx8 mt with no engine problems so far and around 40k-60k miles

or

04-05 rx8 that had engine replaced : body nearly 80-90k miles with new engine at 10-20k miles?

warranty for time on both are running out soon

what would be the better deal?

the newer model will always be the better deal unless you are strapped for cash and only want to spend 9-10k versus 12-14k

If the newer car has a full history of oil changes that you can go through, and have, then that is the better car to go with.

BC.
