I would have to say that an apology would have gone a long way, I have keyed a car once myself, I was pulling into a spot, vette zoomed in almost hitting me and then just ignored me when I confronted him about it. SCREEEEEEETTTCCCHHHH. went my key down his front door panel. LOL

My friends truck got keyed a few weeks ago and I asked him what he did. It took him a while to admit it, but turns out he likes to park at angles and take up two parking spots, that will get you keyed in a heartbeat.

My 8 had a small encounter with a Home Depot- run-away shopping cart- Ironically I saw the evnt unfold in front of my eyes, but could not react quick enough to prevent it. Young child (maybe 10 or so) finishes loading up mom's, huge SUV, then shoves cart into never land, hitting my RX 8 on right -rear quarter, taking paint off below primer for about 18 inches, remarkabley, leaving only a small dent. She began to pull out, when I walked in front, stopping her egress. she acknowledged what had just occured, shrugged and said- That's why you have insurance., and drove quickly past me. Got the plate and discussed with HD manager, who, with-out any argument, provide me with a letter from HD, that I provided to the body shop of Galpin Mazda. for full re-imbursement of repair. Whether by accident or intent I know the day I drove it off the lot, virginity was over. Nicks and dings are something, while I dislike it I have come to accept as part of driving an awesome car in todays world. If I freak out over every blemish I won't enjoy the mechanical fun factor this vehical has to offer.

I would aslo have been tempted to take the liscence number of that lady, gone to the insurance company, and given them the number, explained what happened, and seen if they could have gotten her to repay HD for her own negligence, its about as bad as a hit and run, I guess because technically, it was...
it may not have been with her car, but still, its her responsibility

Not cool keying other people's car regardless of how big of an ******* they are. I've seen a car parked in two spaces intentionally in a crowded parking lot with no other spots open. What I really wanted to do instead of keying the car is to **** on the door handle and all over the windows, that'll teach them when he tried to open the door! However, I refrained from pissing on his car. Was a new Porsche Cayanne too.

I was in a grocery store parking lot two weeks ago and started to pull into a parking space next to a couple of rednecks in a Jeep then decided it was too close, so I pulled out and parked on the other side of the row way out where no one was parked.
I kept thinking it's better to walk 30 seconds than to spend and hour fixing a scratch.
As I started into the store, I turned like most 8 drivers to look at my car again and saw these two idiots walking towards my car with something. I immediately turned around and went back.
I just barely caught this a**hole on the backswing as he was going to scratch my new baby with a screwdriver. Twisted his arm and put his face in the asphalt. His buddy came around the car with a lug wrench and my KP944 stopped him. Immediately a local cop pulled in sqealing tires. He saw everything from where he was parked.
Short story.... Two idiots taken to jail for disorderly conduct, attempted aggravated vandalism and attempted assualt.
I think I would really have shot the guy with the lug wrench if he hadn't stopped. Boy was I scared. Thank God the cop noticed my car too.
Just goes to show you that guns do save lives, Mine.
As for you Idiot gun control freaks, I didn't pull a gun first.
I stopped the first guy, pulled my gun when his "Buddy" said he was going to f**k me up so bad my mother wouldn't recognize the body.

I almost always pack my G-26 when I go out because you can never be sure what you are going to run into now a days. The only problem is that in my state (NV) you cannot shoot to protect property. So no matter how bad they are going to screw up your car you can't defend "it". But when they threaten you it is time to get ready to defend, key word, defend youself and your property. The people who rile against guns have probably never had their hard earned money stolen or their property damaged by some malcontent who thinks they have a right! Most gun owners fear the day that they will fire thier weapon in self defense. But I would rather have another option available to me other than running away or spending some time in a hospital. You were luck to have a cop see the whole thing. But if they are swinging a tire iron---dead men tell no tales.

I don't care what kind of car it is. People should respect one another's property. If my kid ever pushed a cart into the middle of a parking lot I'd dent his behind, and I'd take responsibility for his actions. as far as guns go, I don't carry one, I'm all for the right to bear arms and all, but its still illegal to carry a concealed weapon where I'm from, and there are too many accidents. I wouldn't suggest confronting two guys who are f@cked up enough to go after my car with a screwdriver for no reason, gun or not you could have been killed, is your car worth that?

Rx-8Dad,
Our society demands that law abiding citizens confront Idiots just like I did. Otherwise thugs would rule the streets.
Our Forefathers (and Foremothers, to be PC) confronted rogue societal elements. I firmly believe in the principles upon which this country was founded. Where I live is a very low crime area, and it is not up to just law enforcement but my neighbors and myself to preserve our community. These two morons will most likely think twice before they try to pull this kind of stunt again.
This was definitely not the first time that they had done something like this. There was a checkbook stolen from another vehicle in the jeep. Also the older guy(22) WAS employed by a company in which I am the minority owner. His probation period would have been up been up next monday. At the time this happened I didn't know him and he didn't know me because I am not actively associated with the daily operations.
As for my actions, I would do it again for someone else in my community and I believe there are others that would do the same for me. Maybe now there is one senior citizen or woman or man that won't be a victim to these scavengers.

G-26 is a Glock 26. 9mm projectile, 10 shots, sub compact frame for concealment.
