Finally found something that really does bug the hell out of me.

You know that black plastic piece that is on the side of the regular doors? I can see fingerprints on it from literally 20 feet away. It really gets to me, because I'll spend 2 hours washing my car, and then the next day when I walk outside and see how beautiful it is, I see these disgusting fingerprints all over that pillar piece.

I'm slowly adjusting to closing the door from the very top edge.

Actually they are quite convenient when you need to see the traffic lights without raising the visor when it's down.

I Love My 8

I Love my 8 about 96.3% of it's full capacity, as of today. 6 week owner.
I think that most of the cars equipment and systems are genius.
There are several features that were simply left to the Chairman's nephew...
#1 - The Fuel Cap having no holder. I drive a 2004, I know they fixed this later.

It's a Silver 2004 GT with 33K, and I'm a 6 week owner. We are Soooo in Love.

Other people on here are complaining about squeaks and rattles, but I have none of those issues, I love quietness of this car compared to my Miata, which is made of rattles. I also rarely even turn the radio on, because I love to listen to the car run.

I think that most of the cars equipment and systems are well designed genius.
But a few RX-8 features were simply left to the Chairman's nephew...

It just pains me to let it dangle there.
Is there an aftermarket fuel door that doesn't look goofy?
#2 - Dipstick location and impossible to read fill level.
This is TOTAL FAIL in a car that requires an owner to check their oil. GM got this right over 50 years ago, and even my 1992 MAZDA Miata has a better reading dipstick and location. I think the RX-8 should have a warning light that tells you when you need to add oil by the 1/4 liter - 1/4L is a gentle reminder on start-up, 1/2L is a steady light, 3/4L is a flashing light, 1L and you have 3 start-ups to fill it.
And the Oil fill isn't so easy to use, under that nifty engine cover.
Careful not to drip!
#3 - The Windshield Washer fluid reservoir is black. Looks cool, sort of.
WTF? - I cannot think of another car I have had, ever, that made me open a cap to know the level of that vital blue fluid. I think this is why translucent plastic was originally invented. Intentional Fail?

As a geek, sure I'd like some other features on the car, like guages that tell me the temperature of everything everywhere - coolant, oil, intake air, cat, my seat, etc. I'd also really like some programmable sounds at various rpm levels, rather than a just pitiful beep that I can barely hear over the roar of the engine.

I'm slightly annoyed that the front grille is only 50% vent and 50% fake. But at least I have the original model without the newer huge permagrin that is at least 65% fake. That's what happens when the Nephew gets promoted. Noone questions stupid.

I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

The door props. Easily the worst props I've experienced on any car. Either I don't push it hard enough and the door springs back at me, or I push it too hard and the door springs back at me. And the window for the correct force is verrrrry small.

My '10 doesn't have a fuel cap holder. I was gonna cut the strap so I can hold the cap when I'm fueling up.

The only thing I really can't stand so far is the stock radio. It's bad...really bad. Come to think of it the radio in the CX-7 I had was pretty bad also. I also wish they would have kept the same bumper stying on the 09-10's...I like the series 1's more.
