What do you think about the Rx-8 2009-10 redesign, supposeitly inspired by Lotus?

I think it looks sharp and more compact really a sharp looking Sports Car. My only problem is that they didn't even give it 10 more hp and I was hoping for 40-50hp bring it up 270-280hp. With it's balance and handling it would be a Car to talk about when it comes to overall performance instead of just looks and Auto cross handling. Like the Ford Mustang they didn't improve its hp making us happy with just exterior and interior upgrades and no real engine performance upgrade.

Hell it always handled well gives us some Umph.

What's your 2 cent on the new Rx-8?

Wait until the 16x comes out, you'll get your 40-50hp increase.

09 Design

I like the R3 a lot!! thats why I am trading my Porsche for one.. the Interior of the R3 Kicks my Caymans butt seriously.Oops now all my PCA friends are going to hate me .If you guys only knew how much Dissing goes on in the Cayman Club about Jap cars you would dispise Porsche owners.. The RICE comment gets old .Traded my 04 RX8 GT for a Porsche Now Trading Back .. It was a nice 2 year test drive ,a lot of people Dream of owning Porsche but the Label you get and the Nose in the air attitude is Just is not for me .. IM too GHETTO and always will be I relize the RX-8 has a lot less power and Torque But I really do not care. The 09 R3 is about 70% cooler then a Porsche.I guess I just am not Old enough for a Porsche yet ,no old man River like 90% of the PCA members.Just Keeping it Real

Obviously, you don't have a Cayman.

Op, Mazda has basically got all that they can out of the Renesis. There simply isnt 10-20 more hp avalible in the engine. Why do yo think our bolt ons dont add much power?

Do not like the new ones . I would have been happy if they kept it the same with more HP. But thats not happening. If they don't eventually bring the HP on whatever model come out in a couple of year this will be my last 8. It will be paid of by then anyways.

I'll keep the one I have and get something else.

I like it EXCEPT for that stupid black plastic mustache they stuck on. God damn, it ruins the nose of the car...

Not completely sold on the new design yet, I hate to say it but theres little styling cues that really remind me of a tiburon.

sad but true. the nose reminds me of a stupid smile, and the lack of vents on the front fenders was a turn off.

its definately a car that you need to see in person. i saw one of the new R3's in person when i bought my rx-8. they look damn good. but i can't help think the front end on the old ones looks better, but the new rims and rear end are definatley an improvement on the new rx-8.

I think its alright, I'm not sold on the new front, and I would have far prefered them offering a stock forced induction version of the car which would have shaken people up seriously. I would seriously consider buying one then. As is... its a slight body mod and I don't really like the new stock rims.

Ugly...too much plastic on the nose; fog light assembly looks cheap especially the chrome insert; also the fender vent looks like focus and small surface area; I hate the reflector located on top of the exhaust pipe; steering design is too shinny and easy to scape the surface...In short, I prefer the original Series I (2003 to 2005)& II (2006 to 2008) design. In fact, the Nissan GTR is somewhat similar to RX8 in design if you pay attention to its design details...

I have seen it in person, I think it looks worse in person IMO. The R3 looks allright, but the other models really do nothing for me.

I do like the interior minus the CX7 steering wheel

I had a good long look at one one on display at the dealership, and I just can't make myself like the looks. They've moved away from the Euro-exotic look of the 04-08 and made it look, well, more Japanese. Less sexy, more aggressive...not my style.

Like it except for the steering wheel and the side vents...why did they lose the 04-08 gills!

I like the 04-08 design better, but considering my job is right next to a Mazda dealership, it's starting to grow on me.
