What do you think

I have been thinking about buying an rx-8 for a long time finally I am ready to get one, what do you as current rx-8 owners think of this deal keep in mind I am canadian and this car is being sold in canada.
Hi i'm selling my baby (2004 Mazda RX-8 Manual tranny) for 23500 (cad)

A real head turner!!!!!

It is a local Black car with exactly 62000kms on it.

which is lower than average.

No accident. and the history's just as clean as 2008 the newest cars.

Options : It is fully loaded with GT Package, Full leather Interior

The Mods :
-HKS Intake
-Ings Full body kit
-VIS Bumper
-Carbon Fiber Hood
-Ings Spoiler
-Tein Coilover
-Cat Back Exhaust
-Tinted window
-18" black color ame wheels
-HID Kit 6000k
-brand new tires Kumho Ecsta

Still have all the stock parts (hood bumper shock exhaust...) except the wheel
hood exhaust bumper shock

Very well taken care, waxed every month, only hand-washed myself. Chevron 94 Octane gas used only. (I always do this to my cars)

No other gas put into this car, Oil changed regularly ( 3000 km )

First thing I noticed when looking at the picture was that the front bumper does not even look close in color to the rest of the car.

I would never buy a car without taking it to a mechanic I know and test driving it before hand... my .02

if youn were to get an rx8 , IMO i would jus get a stock rx8 and then modify it form there... you kow what i mean.... dont get me wrong, it is nice ot buy an already modified rx8 but it would be alot better if it was stock then you can modify yourself when you have the time and money and create your own style to it..... SweeeTttt.

Pictures can be misleading (especially one as dark as the one shown)...and are you comparing it to the CF hood?

If your buying a modified rx8, make sure the owner knows the car and actually takes car of the car. Don't buy it off a guy that doesn't even know where the oil filter is.

Ask him if he ever changed the headlight fluid. If he says yes, run.

Well at first I had when I first glanced, and then looked at the mods list. But doesn't the front bumper even look darker than the rolled wheel fenders on each side. Just may be me... but you're right, pictures aren't the greatest indicator. That's why I said I think he needs to go see it in person or have someone he knows look at it.

Mods aside (they're never going to fetch used anything close to what the owner paid for them in the first place), for that year with that mileage the price is about $5k too high.

Check around the Auto Trader and you'll see that you can pick up a low-mileage (50k ish) in the $18k range and I already pointed in one of the Canada forum posts to a practically new 2005 Ti with only 36km on it for less than what he's asking for this one.

My advice for buying any used sports car is to drive it hard, and if you are interested in that one, you especially want to do that. You never know what that guy did to the transmission on that car or anything else and the best way to find out is to push it a little and see what happens. That said, you may want to drive an RX-8 that you know is good before you try this one out, just so you can tell the difference.

Have it checked out buy a mechanic, and it is probably worth having the transmission fluid drained, if you are really serious.

Otherwise, you might have more fun putting the mods on the car yourself, like that **** said earlier.

I would be more worried about the timing belt in the power seat.

No, but you have to keep your shift **** lubricated or the transmission will fall out.

Whoops, my bad - didn't see where you were located. Not sure what the market for these is out west, so I can't comment on the pricing.

As for the GT - at least in Canada, it adds stuff like leather seating, xenon lights with automatic headlight levelling, auto dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, power driver's seat, heated front seats, and Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control.

Almost all of the GT's I've seen used have the sunroof as well (though it was an option). Some also have the Nav system. I'm pretty sure that in Canada those last two could not be had on the GS model.

I think the Canadian cars have the BOSE system with the 6-disc changer as standard, regardless of model, though I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Oh, and the American models get TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) while the Canadian models get headlight washer units.

That doesn't look too bad. They are only 6 speed or automatic by the way.

BC Cars in general are a bit more pricey than TO. Something to do with the warped perspective that BC cars do not see as much salt.
With that said, the silver one you posted looks like a nice specimen.

Here's a nice Shinka.
